I'm so excited my car is getting fixed!

Well, just got off the phone with a fellow Mustang owner(2004 Mach1 auto on 125 shot) down here. He said he'll be able to come pick up my car on his enclosed trailer tomorrow, and take it to his house to replace the broken axle. After he's done with that he's installing the brand new Compucar 4.6 fogger kit I bought off of him(he's a Compucar dealer).

I'm so damn excited that I'll finally be able to spray her. I had an Edlebrock dry kit before this, but I sold it because I though I was going to sell the Cobra as well. Anyhoo, it's still going to be a while before I can use the kit because I will still need to buy a DiabloSport flip chip with a separate tune for the nitrous, and a couple of other little goodies.:(

I'm sure none of you care. Well, maybe the 2 other people here that like straight line racing. Anyhways, I'll post up pictures of the kit after it's installed.

These 03/04 Cobra's react really good to nitrous.

On a 50 shot my guesses are 515-525hp/550-565tq. On a 90 shot around 550hp/600tq. With a 125 shot somewhere around 600+hp/650-700tq. All at the rear wheels, of course.

I can almost gurantee you I'll only ever really use the 50 shot. I'll do each one on the dyno just to see what she can do, but there's no way I'll keep a 125 shot at all times. With the flip chip you can use 3 separate tunes so I might have one set up for blower only, one with a 50 shot, and a third for the 125 shot for when I want to get crazy with it.

Squeeze is where it's at man.. I'm going to use a 50-75 hp shot on my Talon next season. Congrats on the low 8's in the 1/8th. :) 👍
 
At your horsepower level, Josh, dont you think that a few drivetrain mods would help in getting all that to the ground? Like drag shocks and slicks? I bet that combination would cure the wheelhop, which isn't going to just disappear.

I have so many plans for this car, it isn't even funny. I just need more money to make it all happen. The other day I told my Dad my goals with the Cobra is to have an SVT representitive be able to look at it from 100ft. away, and void the warranty.

Sometime soon there'll be a full drag suspension, massive weight reduction, built 8.8 live axle w/3.90 or 4.10 gears, E/T Streets on custom 15 or 16"(whichever I can use that'll clear the brakes) Bogarts, more cooling mods, SHM stroker motor, etc. If I had $8,000 or so the car would be getting an inductionconcepts TT kit installed as we speak.

Anyways, next time to the track I might borrow my buddy Jeff's E/T Streets off his '03 Cobra, or Chuck's slicks of his nitrous'ed GT. The drag radials wouldn't hop so bad it the track was prepped right with some VHT, but if you ever saw this track in person and the people who run it you wouldn't expect it to be prepped right.

ND4SPD - Have no idea. The closest 1/4 mile track is over 2 hours away. I've only been to a track one time, and it was a local 1/8th mile on my 2 day old drag radials. Out of 4 runs my best was a 8.1 @89mph with my worst being a 8.3 at 93mph or so. There's definitely a lot left in it - I just need to learn to drive it better.:lol:

pimp racer - I decided I didn't want a Z06. After I drove the Cobra around a few more times I fell back in love with it. The more I drive it the more I like it. It's insane.

Monster7 - thanks man. A lot of people told me 8.1 isn't bad for my first time out, but with the power my car has I wasn't too happy. I know with some practice, bigger burnouts, way better 60ft's, and some powershifting I could bust out some 7.7's if not better.

He called today to tell me the car is alive, and well. He got the new halfshaft installed, and took it for a quick drive around his neighborhood to check everything. Said it didn't make any noises, shake, etc. Next up he's installing the Compucar nitrous kit he picked up while in Jackson, SC today. Then it's the Lightning Force Performance Heat Exchanger, and clutch stuff. God! I cannot wait! It's going to be awesome. I'm thinking about ordering an Apten ported Eaton supercharger next weekend to pick up an additional 30+ rwhp!

Pictures of the heat exchanger/nitrous kit to come as soon as I get the car back.

Yes, on the 50 shot it should be somewhere around 515+. Pictures to come in a few minutes. Excuse the dirty car. I'm havin' some Hooters girls wash it for me later.;) Pics of that to come as well.:D

Wet kit. 50 shot is in right now. Did a few test runs on the interstate earlier. Pretty impressed so far. Can't wait to get it tuned for it. We didn't hear any detonation, but still weren't comfortable spraying it more than 2-3 times.

We did go, but there were way more people that showed up than we had thought were going to be. Easily 200 cars were there waiting to get washed by the time we got there. I don't know if I've mentioned it yet, but the car was/photo shoot was to help a girl there that they just found out had cancer like a week ago. All of the local Mustang/F-Body/Vette/Etc. clubs showed up, and it was packed. They even had bikes and full blown dragsters. I would have taken pictures, but being the dumbass that I am I left the memory stick to my camera in the card reader on the computer.:banghead:
