At this point, I'm wondering if I should start over and just buy the strategy guide LOL. I'm at level 14 in A-Spec and I only have 2 cars that are over 300 HP (A Nissan Skyline that I bought and have upgraded to 714 HP, and some other concept I won by completing one of the normal events). I have just a hair over 200,000 credits.

My Skyline simply will not get over 163 MPH. No matter what I do. I'm wondering if I'm going to have to buy the Full Customizable Transmission and adjust the ratios so I can gain more top speed (I can crush all the cars in the GT World Championship on acceleration but I get passed on the straightaways, especially in the first event).

I've also done the seasonal event trick I posted about in another thread so that credit/XP trick is gone.

So my question is, how the heck do I proceed now? What should I do/buy to keep progressing? I've finished with gold but 2 events in beginner but only 2-3 in the Amateur and none in the professional.

Also, is there any trick to getting cars to appear in the Used Car section, especially the pre 1979 ones, as you can't seem to buy those?

Go to b-spec and complete the Roadster Cup. There you will win the Mazda Furai which easily should win you the World Championship. Hope that helps.
 
Ah, thanks! I had heard about that car, but no one ever said whether it was an A-Spec or B-Spec win. I haven't played B-Spec at all yet. Any advice for that one?
 
For B-spec, keep pacing down your driver until the indicator thing on the blue/red bar is all the way on the blue side. That's it.
 
Have you tried doing any ''special events'', the AMG Nurburgring event for beginners and intermediate is a great way of boosting experience points and money when you are at the lower levels??
 
Yes, I've beaten the Mini race completely. I think I finished 9th on the RX-7 one. And I have done quite a few of the Special ones...I gave it a rest when I got to the Top Gear Bus event and nearly broke my PS3 controller in half LOL
 
Top gear bus event isn't so bad..

Believe it or not, slipstreaming actually makes a difference, especially if you are within 3-5 car lengths of the bus in front.


Also, the second to last corner the AI buses brake, you can take it flat out and easily get 2-4 seconds advantage...

I hated it at first and I'm a serious aircooled VW fan, having owned many aircooled VW's, but after a bit of pactice it's not too hard to pass the event.

Just wait until you get to Top Gear intermediate and advanced....
 
Thanks for the tip about the buses, I guess I was just impatient...it sucks that you barely tap them and it disqualifies you, when you're in other races and can plow into them and nothing happens!

And yeah, I was playing the AMG ones...man! Those are rough...and I've already seen threads about the Loeb drifting ones...so my work is cut out for me.

If I get frustrated enough I'll just go back to NFS:Hot Pursuit :)
