Searched this forum for a problem when I put pictures in a post and they appear as red boxes. I found a post that explained this as because of the url the pic comes from doesn't exist anymore.

For the post i made it is not so, Ex. i took the url in "properties" for the red box, and put it in adress bar for windows, I come to the picture and when I come back to my post the picture is in the post.

If i turn off the computer and go to the post again, the red box is there. Why does this happen?

Thanks in advance

i did not look closely enough, sorry, i'd thought the images were all from the same place.

The Webshots terms and conditions say that you can only view images on their site, so it would follow that they restrict remote hosting of their images.

So, I guess a solution to this is to choose prewiev post/reply and if the picture isn't there then you know if it will be possible to put that image in ur post?

Yes, that's right. I would actually always recommend previewing the post if you're putting in URLs to images.

Yes, but make sure you clear your browser's cache before you previewing the post. Otherwise, if you viewed that image on the original site where you had permission to view it, it will be stored in your cache and your browser will simply insert it into the new page without the original server knowing about it or being able to prevent it. Therefore, everyone else will see the red X, but you will still be able to see the image.
