So people complain about the amount of Japanese cars in the game (despite the maker being japanese), but i feel people would enjoy these cars MUCH MUCH more if they sounded they way they are supposed to, in real life.

My biggest gripe is when adding a stage 2 or 3 turbo, it should make a HUGE difference to the car sound. The very 1st video i give in my example is a perfect demonstration of how i personally feel people would enjoy japanese cars etc a heck of a lot more.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYzm3Ja5CQQ - Pukekohe,NZ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8EdowMg3vs&feature=related 55sec in
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjHTl1brgao&feature=related - This is what japANESE performance cars should sound like Kazunori :( You know that.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCliqaV3cyo&feature=fvwrel - Cat and mouse @ 0.33 .... 2.02 :nervous:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybYdhtQZvsM&feature=related - Silvia
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOZplGu-2Fk&feature=related - Car in grass at 6.10 :P This one the more i watch it the more i realise how spot on GT5's physics and how accurate the cockpit-view in-game replay driver animations are.

As it stands the sounds for an un-modified car is quite realistic,my query is though do you think the sounds for engine modification parts are changeable via an update? I assume they are..
I'm sure the video's provided say enough about how enjoying and important sound is whilst playing.
I love GT5 so far and love the attention it's getting via updates but i think they really dropped the ball sound wise.

Cool, but mine is about the sounds of japanese car's ONCE you have modified them.

Yours is about cars that are v10 that sound like v8. Different if you ask me. But yeah i did read your thread before i created this.

I don't think many standard japanese car's sound ferocious to begin with like say a ferrai, lambo, but once modified to 300-600 hp they sound absolutely incredible as the video's demonstrate.

One of the worst examples is the Corvette C6, it sounds totally 🤬 once you RM it.

A lot of the modded cars sound like they backfire at lower revs too:odd:

The tranny whine also becomes very loud on certain cars after modding them.

Unfortunately that tranny whine with the full race transmission is in real life too. People have posted video's showing this, not all cars but yeah a lot do have that annoying tranny whine :(
I wish it wasn't there personally.

Straight-cut spur gears at work.

Not that it's annoying, but it seems out of proportion compared to the engine sounds at times. It sounds great on my Tuscan RM, but on my GT-R with standard exhaust? hmmm, a bit extreme like this example:

Youtube tags aren't that tricky pal. Except the last one, copied the title and nothing was found in the search (?)...

Hey thanks very much mate, i didn't have a clue how to embed them, it's much appreciated. I quoted you and i see how it's done, cheers.

Btw . Only 3 of 5 worked for you so maybe it isn't that easy :D

please post what he told you about embedding videos? I have no idea how to do it either. The best I have gotten is that white box you got, never a working one.

Yes I agree the sound are very disapointing. Props on the graphics, even the standars are pretty good graphically, but the sounds need to be PDs next major fix. Unfortunately, this is a major undertaking and I doubt PD will tackle it in an update, i mean seriously think about how long it would take to record all of those unique sounds. It is up near the top on the GTplanet GT5 customer survey, hopefully their are plenty of PD moles on this site.

In regards to howto post youtube, it easy just hover over the buttons on the poting box and you will find on that says youtube in the "go advanced" post menu.
It will bring this up, then you select the letters and numbers only

[YOUTUBE)[/YOUTUBE)
note i used ) instead of the actual ] so it will show up for demonstration purposes

then you take the adress:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haBopTY_D98

and select only the part after the = sign

haBopTY_D98

and put ut between the youtube brackets:
[YOUTUBE)[/YOUTUBE)

and you get:

What the hells under the bonnet of that BMW320?, it might whine a lot but damn its quick!

The sounds have absolutely nothing to do with why people complain about the number of Japanese cars in the game.

Frankly the sounds suck equally across all countries (other than the US, which has some exceptionally poor sounds for certain cars), so I don't see why it would affect people's opinion on the number of Japanese cars in the game and not the number of other countries' cars in the game.

Yeah i understand it's the number of cars, despite the maker of the game being japanese.

The point of my post though which i didn't put across very well was the sound's after modifying your vehicle to 500-600hp and slapping on a High Rpm range turbo that you don't get as satisfying sounds as you should.
For me sound is 50% of the immersion.

Why oh why can't we have this -

Surely it's not hard to beef up the turbo spool noise once said part is fitted, i'm no computer programmer but with the other stuff able to be achieved in the game i'm positive that it wouldn't be hard to implement.

I personally don't like playing forza but gosh everytime i'm at a mate's and i hear the sounds from that game i get a little jealous, they aren't amazing in forza either but they have a growlier more immersive tone to them.
