Ive noticed people saying the 22b is a reasonably rare car and that they've never seen one in the UCD but ive seen loads of impezza's with gold rims pop up so I was just wondering, whats the difference between the 22b and the standard impezza's with gold rims?
Impreza's with gold rims are STI modified WRXs and are generally "standard" production cars (although they do have specific limited models within their range too).
Whereas the 22B was a very limited (400 produced, 399 sold (#13 was destroyed on purpose)) production model. It used the a specific wide-body 2-door body shell the same as used by the WRC cars of the time. The 22B had the 2.2l EJ22 engine as opposed to the regular 2.0 EJ20 engine and came with many bespoke parts. It was basically the ultimate incarnation of the original Impreza body style.
They are very sought after in the real world due to their rarity and heritage.
Which are also similar reasons why they are popular in GT5. I suspect that if they made a regular appearance in the UCD or were available from the Premium Dealer then they would be less sought after in GT5.
The last good looking WRX to me. all the new models look kinda gay and they seem to get fatter and fatter in size. kinda like the EVO 10 compare to the older models of the EVO. It is pretty rare to find in the UCD but not as rare to get as most other cars.
It is a good looking, great handling quick car. I like it better than most of the other sti. It has its unique look and I really like them. The other Stis have slightly less power and are not as quick, the only stis that are better the Spec C Rm and the new ones.
