In-game adjustment menu

This still boggles my mind...I want to be able to open the in-game menu (to adjust tcs/torque split/etc) by clicking a joystick, then I want to be able to scroll up and down through this menu by moving that SAME joystick up and down, and then adjust each setting by clicking the SAME joystick left and right...that makes sense right?

THEN WHY CAN'T I CHOOSE THAT?!

Why are there ANY limitations on my controller?! Why can't I assign ANY action to ANY key? Who cares if I want to turn left with R2 and brake with select...okay, maybe that's extreme but my point still stands. Why is the MOST logical choice to control that menu NOT present, after SO many patches?!
 
I think its a gimmick to get you to buy they're steering wheel, but I think I'll stick with the g25.

umm.. yes you can.. Do you have SPEC III? Just wondering..


But you can assign any button to any function.
I assigned the quick tune menu by clicking down on L3, and using the D-pad to navigate the up down, + and -

It works.. look under Options menus...

Same with any wheel, it works under my G25.

I also assigned GAS and BRAKE to triggers. (Got Real Triggers mod $5 so that fingers wont slip anymore... good for any game ;) )

I can get to this menu with a G25. I just assign RA Function to whatever button I want, I have to use the little d-pad on the shifter, but it works for testing out ABS and brake bias settings lap after lap.
 
Well, I guess I learn something every day. I'll have to try it.
 
I use the G25 to race but use the DS3 for the real time adjustments (while racing with the G25).
 
i just changed the settings for my g25. when i click square i bring up the adjustment menu
and then i use the arrows to change the settings:tup:

Yeah i did the same, i dont use it though.
 
what bothers me, is lack of option to use sixaxis' motion sensor for control

Same here. But sometimes PAD turns off by it self, so in case I set up the red and directional buttons.

but yeah guys everything is customizable. Except the SIX AXIS controls, it would be good for some people, but wheels are way better because of the feedback they give you

If Im wrong please tell me! I just figured this out 2min ago, and this game is getting better by the second! Im glad I read this thread! I thought I was cool putting the controller setting to 1 so I could use my controller to navigate and still drive with my wheel. Thanks alot fellas!

how did you guys manage to do that? I can't reassign any of the RF functions, nothing.

Just go to the options, control settings, choose a button to config and then choose the thing you want to do with it. You can set up almost everything (like in all GTs btw.).

You can not select how much power or stiffen suspension on the go. It just gives you Brake Bias, ABS on off, traction controls, and for 4wd cars you can adjust power between front and rear tires if car comes with that.
 
So I was correct, its NOT the quick tune menu, Only things to be adjusted are those a driver in a Real Race car can adjust. This makes the game alot more realistic for me. I was sick of watching races on TV and the drivers changing brake bias on the fly, and I always thought I should be able to do this in "The Real Driving Simulator." This website is great! Thanks again guys.

Yes I have spec-III.

I use the left/right on the d-pad to steer, and they will not let me use the joystick to scroll up/down and adjust left/right.

Currently I have to use like R2 to open/close the menu. Then I can click right joystick to adjust + and click the left joystick to adjust -, then I use up/down on the d-pad to scroll up/down through the menu.
 
Oh so you can not use the STICK to up and down.. hmm.. Well .. only way to go is getting a wheel.. I know sounds harsh.. but hey more realism as well.
