......Forgive me if someone created a thread for something similar - did a quick search and found none. Anyways....
Just today, I was doing the American car seasonal with a Dodge Ram (odd choice, I know...) and got bored rather quickly. So I thought of ways to make these...rabbit chases a bit more exciting - in-race challenges.
It's a simple idea: either in a race menu screen, or that booooring rolling start footage, you are shown a set of random "goals" you can try to accomplish during that race, online or off.
As an example, say in a National B race, one of the more prominent goals are "Finish race with zero contact with other cars". If you achieve this, then you get a credit bonus, and after ace-ing a few of these challenges, you also get a nice little prize. Of course it shouldn't be punitive even if you don't succeed - that'd be bad; you just don't get the extra credits, that's all.
And it's repeatable, too - a boon for folks who grind. Grinding is mindless, thankless task so anything to spice it up will be cool.
The challenges themselves should be catered for the "difficulty" of the race too. And some of them should be light-hearted as well.
I can already think of a few "goals"/"challenges" that should be fun.
...............What about you?
Edit: forgot to mention that number of challenges per race too are flexible, but the length of the race itself plays a factor - longer the race, more number of challenges, higher complexity for each challenges.....
Edit 2: came up with couple o' ideas for an enduro race - "win race using only one type of tyres!!" and "overtake five or more cars using slipstream for positions!!"
