Incomplete install, no replays etc,Help!

Just purchased a xbox 360 4gb slim, and loving forza 3 to bits,

but as my racing continued i began to wonder where was the replay race option?
Didnt get the option at the end of the race like my friends versions so i could take photos during race etc

there is no option to watch a race replay at all!
I only have the internal 4gb memory, and the game nearly uses half that, i have googled it and people are saying i need a hard drive and will have to reinstall the game i guess,

is this true?
will i lose my game data?

Replays don't work without a HDD .
Adding a HDD shouldn't disrupt your current data (game save...).

If you've installed everything from disk 2 then nothing should be missing.
I recommend installing disk 1 to the HDD. This reduces the noise level and improves loading times.

Installing the game shouldn't touch your game save files. Back when I had a 20GB hard drive I used to have to remove and install Forza regularly. Game save data is completely separate from game install data.
