When playing online I sometimes end up versing a incorrect number of people.
There are two possible ways it will happen.
1. It will say I am racing 6 people (so it may say I am 4/6). But when in conversation with other racers there is actually more.
2. When I am racing it will say there are 6 but when I look on the mini map there will be less.

Has anyone else come across this problem?

Yes, that's the invisible driver issue, I think.
There's actually not really a thing to be done on this to prevent it.
Peoples internet connections sometimes block eachother endeing up in not seeing eachother on track or even in the lobby.
