How did you measure that? Video?

I have an old video of one of my GT-R's... its from my perspective so I would rather not upload it, but its in the low 8's... the video going from approx. a quarter after 0:28 sec - low to mid 0:36 sec.

offline split sceen AWWW YEAAA LOL

Your method can have AT LEAST half a second error. Even with a stopwatch you can't get it right. There is currently no way to measure how fast your car is except trap speed and racing someone else.

i make 5-10 runs until i get the same time multiple times

no no stopwatch sucks... just try goin on the 10's then just pause right at the shadow... use bumper view

Emphasis on the "try". In close races like the GT-R vs ACR, milliseconds make a huge difference. It is very difficult to accurately measure the times by "trying" to go every 10 seconds.

Record it (vid card) and watch it on your comp with slowmotion. Veeeeeeeerryyyyy sloooooooooowww!

INAD(ragger), but maybe you guys could use the data logger for this?

A bit fiddly, but I think you could check the meters and seconds when you took off, then find the point at that plus 400 meters, for example. I'll have a look later.

Edit: Mmm, crow is tasty. The time axis doesn't expand far enough - it would be hard to do better than tenths; not good enough, frame capture is better. Speed at 400m would be gettable.

60fps

1sec/60=0.016666..sec

Wouldn't be dramatic.

But when you're dealing with a sport that measures in 0.001 of a second on timing boards and even in 0.0001 if they have a super close finish, then talking about 0.0166 means that you've got a lot of margin there. Just watch any NHRA event on ESPN to see what we mean. 👍 At 300mph, the difference of inches is measured in ten thousandths of a second.

Duuuude!

That would be 1.85m at a speed of 400km/h! Tell me a better method!

There's no better method at this stage my friend.....however 1.85m is heading towards half a carlength with an Enzo!! That's a huge difference and we know we get a lot closer than that.

I've been looking for an accurate method to obtain the 400m/Quarter of mile time of the cars... I guess this is the most accurate you have found, isn't it?

We should write a request to Kaz to bring back the Test Course into GT5... It should not be that hard to do. I'd be happy with a single 1km straight, even without background

Look at intro video of Spec 2. See the X1 on the Test Course in the intro. Hint to what's coming in a future DLC. 👍
