Infiniti has unveiled its electrically powered Emerg-E Concept at the Geneva Motor Show today. The concept, depending on the public and media reaction could make it to production.

Power is provided by a combination of a Lotus-derived 1.2-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine and two electric motors. It can drive up to 30 miles on electric power alone, but it can go 10 times as far with the range extending petrol engine. Each of the electric motors produces 201bhp(150 kW / 204 PS) whilst the 1.2-liter engine adds an additional 47 bhp (35 kW / 48 PS).

If the sportscar does get green lighted for production,we should expect a target price of around $150,000 with the majority of sales set to be completed in Europe. The Japanese and U.S. markets would also be in the mix

It looks like Nissan/Infiniti version of the new Honda/Acura NSX.

I llke the looks of this a lot more then the new NSX.

I like the angular look of the NSX over this. It looks more aggressive than the Infinity.

But of course they are both concepts and are subject to change.

If it were me, I'd drop a GT-R motor in their instead of the small three cylinder.
 
Don't like the front, but everything else looks great.

I must have been the only one who looked at the thread title and thought, odd that Infiniti is doing a emergency services concept vehicle :lol:
 
Looks good, I think the paint job kills everything aggressive about it though. Would love to see it in a brighter red or yellow.

If Infiniti were to build this i think their will be two variants, The Emerg with a petrol engine, and the Emerg-e for the electric range extending version.
 
Except the NSX is headed for production. This Infiniti is just a concept case study. Maybe some form of it will enter production years from now, but I'll bet on this isn't it.

That's why I hate concept cars by the time they are made into production they mostly look like a POS compared to what the concept looked like.

I don't think either of these look like the old Isuzu. If that's the case you might as well say Koenigsegg and Pagani look like that too.
 
No, not really feeling the design, seems the front just doesn't fit with the rest of the styling, for me, the face has a strange mutt like appearance, and the eyes look somewhat bored to be there, the rear flanks of the design kind of reminds me of the Evora or Alfa 4C with a hint of LF-A (however it's spelt), i do like the idea of it being a hybrid though.

Infiniti has announced plans to unveil an EMERG-E prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Based on the concept that was originally introduced at the Geneva Motor Show, the prototype will be piloted by Formula One driver Mark Webber.

In a statement, Infiniti's Global Chief Marketability Engineer Jerry Hardcastle said "The Festival of Speed crowds will be seeing EMERG-E in action for the first time ever, even before many of Infiniti's top executives have seen it! Goodwood's spectators will see not just an exquisite design but a superb example of Infiniti combining our own technologies with those of our partners to create an environmentally-friendly car, brimming with true Infiniti driver appeal."

Infiniti Emerg-e won't reach production, will still influence the 2014 G-Series

Infiniti’s new boss Johan de Nysschen believes it will take 15 years for Nissan’s luxury arm to become established as a “tier-one luxury brand”. Speaking to European media for the first time at the Paris motor show, de Nysschen confirmed the Emerg_e concept would not be going into production, but it would heavily influence future Infinitis.

“The Emerg_e is not planned for future production at all,” he said, “ but it does offer an insight into our future powertrains and design direction. There will be strong cues in the G-series successor, particularly with the interior” he added, a model understood to be set for a reveal at January’s Detroit motor show.
