in GT3 there is a car:

Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex Shigeno Version

that car looks just like the AE86 in Initial d... and... the creator of initial d is Shuichi Shigeno

it would be weird if this would be a coincidence...

Way to answer a genuine question. right back at you.

Yes, kekke. It isn't a coincidence.

Yes...They have : shigeno Version
Car list initial D:

AE86 Trueno
FC3S
FD3S
DC2
EG6
SW20
SXE10
S13
S14
S15
RPS13
R32
GC8
CN9A

i think its all cars

He said EG6 which is the Civic that Shingo drives :)

The Shigeno edition is modeled on a real life AE86 that the creator of Initial D (Shigeno) was either given or had made for him. I think that's the case anyway :)

all the cars are real life based and a real life corolla 86 is a good drifting vehicle
its not based off the manga its that these are real life drifting vehicles

The AE86 Trueno SS is the Initial D car. Famine might be able to explain it better than I can, but the creator of Initial D (Shuichi Shigeno) is the reason the car sports the SS moniker. In the Manga Takumi puts a carbon fiber hood on the 86 to counter the weight of the new engine. ;)

Nope - I can't explain it better than you. Firstly because I don't know, and secondly because you seem to have done a bloody good job of explaining it...

NotoriousFOB - no, you can't.

LOL, yeah, thanks for your support anyway.;)

I was wondering about that mild detail. Sounds cool, sucks I can't get any mangas around my place though.

All it lacks is the "Fujiwara Tofu Shop (Private Vehicle)" written on the driver door and the fog lights then. :D

you know, i think that Gran Turismo 3 was built as a drifting game to begin with, but they scraped that idea to focus on realistic races, but left in popular drift cars. Hmmmm, conspiracy.

At the recommendation of Ed, I'm copying this thread from the GTX on over here to the GTP.

READ ME FIRST: This thread is meant to list any and all cars that are either confirmed or semi-confirmed to being in GT4. I would appreciate it if people who find new cars would post their news in this thread, and not create all new threads because this will help keep the clutter and redundant posting down in this forum. Also, please do not attempt to type up your own list, merely post any new cars that are not already on the list below. Many thanks in advanced...

The cars in this thread will be marked according to how they are known to us at the moment. The system will be as follows:
Cars in black have been seen in screenshots and therefore are assumed to be in GT4
Cars in red have been seen being photographed and tested by Sony/Polyphony Digital and may or may not be in GT4
Cars in green have been mentioned by magazines or in interviews as being in the game, yet have not been seen. Also may not be in GT4

Cars marked with an asterik (*) are from GT4: Prologue. These cars may not make it into the final version of GT4.

In parenthesis is the number of cars in each of the three color categories for that manufacturer. A complete total is at the bottom.

12/7: Added Subaru Impreza WRX STi (Cusco Advan JGTC 2003)
12/17: Added Seat as a manufacturer
12/20: Added BMW M5 and Ruf Turbo-R

I noticed there are alot of old cars being added.
That may suggest that earning money will be more difficult, as to make the newer more expensive vehicles more appreciable.
