The biggest joke in all of this? I actually paid $120 for this game and it worked on launch, it no longer works.

Every time i get a room going we have 10 people in the room, try to start the race and
"Error CE-9003B6 some players are still trying to initialize"
This has only been a thing since the latest update so what did they break and when will it be fixed? Game is unplayable.
I just wasted 1 and a half hours of my free time tonight trying to get a couple of races going, Would have been better off whacking my meat sausage at least that comes with a reward.

Also even on start up the game is now constantly freezing, what took 30 seconds on launch to load now takes a few minutes including all the freezing when launching the game.
Fix it, How could you screw the game up this badly?

So why don't they just fix this instead of making me have to randomly kick people from the room until it works?
Do that and no one can join any room you make... ffs.... Just make the game playable it has been out for months now it should not be like this

Yes, something in the latest update seems to have changed... something. As for when it will be fixed... no idea. We only know an update is coming on August 25; we don't know what's in it (aside from the Dior stuff) or if there'll be any other updates before then.

It particularly seems to affect cross-gen lobbies - with mixtures of PS4 and PS5 players - although not exclusively.

You can mitigate the issue by making sure everyone has optimised their connections but also by working out which player is causing the issue. Or players.

So basically they broke the game and i have to wait an entire month for it to be playable again? What a great game this is! Wow!!! AMAZING!!! Unplayable due to incompetence during an update and no plan for a fix for an entire month.
I sure do think Polyphony cares about their customers right now.

If it affects lobbies only, PD very likely considers this a "minority issue". Not to be understood as an insult, but if you simply look at the amount of players in lobbies, this is not all too much.

You can not start an online race? The only reason to play this game is for online races but you can not start one....
Games broken, needs fixing ASAP or i lose interest and buy Forza.

No. We didn't need a "basically" rewording of what I said to make it wrong.

As I said, we don't know if that August 25th update will amend the issue or not because aside from the Dior stuff we don't know what's in it, and we don't know if there'll be any other updates between now and then or if they will address it. It seems to be widespread, so I'd expect a special patch sooner rather than later, but we can't say for sure.

You can mitigate the issue by making sure everyone has optimised their connections and finding out which player or players is/are "causing" the issue.

I know, you are stating facts that everyone here already knows? Polyphony Digital does not care that they just broke the game they already have our money.
And to think i paid $120 for this game that worked on launch that no longer works.

Then I don't know why you posted.

If you already know that PD might fix the issue in the August 25 update, or might fix the issue with a special patch before then, or might not, why ask the question of when it will be fixed?

Polyphony Digital does not care that they just broke the game they already have our money.
If PD doesn't care, it won't be fixed at all. Which seems unlikely.

Also Sony Interactive Entertainment has "our" money, not PD. SIE pays PD a specific budget to develop the game, and takes all the income from it. Then it sets the budget for the next one.

As you already have your answer (and apparently did before we started) and have been given advice on how to manage the issue as best you can for the time being...

Edit: Oh what an entirely unsurprising, childish, foot-stamping, abusive slew of tripe in my inbox.
