Are you kidding?
Has anyone ever been helped through tough times by a song?

When an extremely close family friend was shot dead, I really wanted to find out who had done it, and exact revenge.

But then I heard Knockin' On Heaven's Door, I listened to the lyrics and it made me think about what had happened, and I chose to leave it.

Has anything similar happened to anyone else?

Mama take this badge from me
I cant use it any more.
It sgetting dark to dark to see
feels like I m knocking on heavens door.

knock knock knocking on heavens door
knock knock knocking on heavens door
knock knock knocking on heavens door
knock knock knocking on heavens door

Mama put my guns in the ground I cant shoot them any more
That dark black cloud is coming down,
feels like I m knocking on heavens door

knock knock knocking on heavens door
knock knock knocking on heavens door
knock knock knocking on heavens door
knock knock knocking on heavens door

One of the most touching lyrics to me is "Let It Be" by the Beatles. I think the song itself is one of the finest song every written, but the words are just as special. Many say Paul was writing about the unavoidable breakup of the band, especially the split of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. With Paul being my favorite human alive and the Beatles being my favorite band, this song is a really sad song for me.

Let It Be

When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,
there will be an answer. let it be.

Let it be, let it be, .....

And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me,
shine until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Let it be, let it be, .....

"Ultra Blue" Really gets me through most times. And I have no idea why it does. It just gets me thinking, and makes me feel better

Ultra Blue

Unabashedly pursue,
the Truth that we cannot deny
A revelation shining through,
orchestration Adonai
A revolution ultra-blue,
and a melodic battle cry
And though you say there'll be no coup,

we'll never know unless we
Try to see it through,
and find a different point of view,
one where faith is not taboo
And we'll all learn to see the world as new

Sometimes a belief held true,
is proved to be an outright lie
But it seems we always knew,
in some unspoken lullaby
I'll see you at the rendezvous,
we'll raise our voices to the sky
And though it's said there'll be no coup,

we'll never know unless we
Try to see it through, and find a
Different point of view,
one where faith is not taboo
And we'll all learn to see the world as new
