Has anyone successfully installed data on your system? I have tried several times and mine gets frozen in the process. It says aprox. 2 min left and 1/4 of the status bar has only moved. Some helpful tips would be greatly appreciated... Thx

Just leave it alone. Its not stuck just takes along time. It will finally finish eventually

Yep, just leave it alone. It can take as long as 45 minutes to install.

The PS3 always gives you inaccurate ETA's when downloading/installing things. The install is about 10GB, so it won't take 2 minutes to install. 45 minutes to an hour is about right. Just start the installation and go watch some YouTube videos to pass the time. 👍

I haven't bothered to install the game. Haven't had any problems with lagging, freezing, black screens or long loading times either offline or online.

I never trusted this feature. So I rather let the game install by itself little by little.

Yeah if you dont install, the data will slowly aquire on the hdd anyway. Just the first time you go to a new part of the game itll take a second to download.

Wow i didnt know that.... Will try again tonight Thanku everyone for your help... I Really appreciate the feed back

That's exactly how i approached it. Never trusted this feature of installing 8GB worth it will install it bit by bit as i go along with the game. I never have any issues anyway, wont harm me waiting an extra 10-15seconds lol.

Whats not to trust about this feature... Wat can possibley happen.. More good than harm.. Dont you think?

I was a bit skeptical about doing the install again as after doing it on my old phat PS3, the very next day the Blu-Ray laser died...

Although since then, it's been installed on my slim and never had a problem. It's probably best to install it to stop the constant wear on your BR drive over time.

I haven't, due to the fact that for whatever reason, mine hangs (left it for quite a bit of time). And quitting doesn't help. :grumpy:

Yup its about 45 minutes to an hour. I just had to do this again when I bought another PS3. Our other one started to die with the disk read error and freezing.

I installed it the first time i put the disc into my PS3. Its a no brainer to be honest.
