Yep, it's time for another one.

This one is going to be a bit more involved than the others. As we've gotten used to the format of the races, I'm adding a bit more to it.

Yes, tuning. You'll have the same amount of time, but with a car choice that gives tuning options. What I'm hoping is at the end, people will post their set-ups in this thread, so that other slower racers can examine and test them. This again stems from how slow I am. Can I pick a set-up and given only an hour, tune the transmission and set-up to give me the best possible result, or am I better off running it as is, and getting in as many laps as possible in the hour?

[edit] ok I checked it out, EST is GMT -5h. I'l be sleeping at that hour if my bed isn't on fire.
 
It looks like I'll only be able to participate in the first race. THe chat room will remain open afterwards, should anyone decide to run a second race.

By my reckoning that would make the start at 20:00hrs in Stockholm. You go to bed early in those parts.

Yo, I got stiffed in this one.

Beat all the above times during regulation and couldn't save my best clean lap replay thanks to a faster dirty lap.

Now since I still want to show how I was doing, I took less than 5 minutes to run a few laps... matched my best. (almost*)

FWIW, here's my tailgating time...

I'm just a bit slow in these hot lap things. I tend to grind away for a few hours to get a PB...I'll do much better at the SEGTP iLink ;)

I'll post the details by the morrow as I have a few things to do right now.

just couldn't get the corners hooked up. fun though.

hey wasnt exactly late! Was 8 on the dot as it happens! :) Thats what happens when you only get half an hour cos yer GF wont let you use PS2. :( Ill try and make it again next week (maybe on a track i know a bit and maybe even like) Nice times though guys.

Hey man :D I was in the chatroom talking to Gokents when you posted this, my time was a 1.53.255 and i ran about 10 laps also very little laps in 30 mins around GV:p i'll post sectors later

I tried to get back to the chat room befre I posted that, but I could not get in after my connection shut itself down. Shame.

Cool race though. First time I'd seen GV in a looong time and as I said before the MR-S has been gathering dust since I got it. :)

DerAlta, I noticed that you improved your time this week so I loaded up your replay and compared it in the analyzer against mine. You should do the same thing if you have the time. Nice run. You beat me in every sector except 12(corkscrew)-.5,17(final left turn)-.4 and 18(straight)-.1. 1 full second!I think I'll drive around and use your car as a ghost to see if your driving line is better than mine. Keep it up. :D
 
I did indeed load your replay up and comapre it. Spent an hour or so studying your approach and execution through the Corkscew and the Final corner. I was absolutely amazed at how well I did in that race.

Was kicking myself while coparing all the corners. I was thinking to myself "Yep, Faster there. Ok, faster there. Yep, got him on the one. Good on that one. Outran him there. Say What?!? a Half second in one quadrant?! Damn." My wife wanted to know why I was staring at the TV shaking my head.

So yes, I've been reviewing your replay in those two spots and practicing to improve.

Very nice.
