So after barely putting GT5 into my PS3 for the past few weeks at all I decided to give it one more shot... maybe hop online for some racing or try out these new seasonals...

Put a few laps on the seasonal event, got bored and went on to online... after an hour that netted me 20 minutes racing against one single player who jumped all over the screen despite the race lobby being 4 of 5 stars and almost full bars and then me sitting around for 20 minutes in a room I started up for same car races with no one joining I end up in a lobby that freezes on me, corrupts my GT5 data and I have to now spend well over an hour deleting the game data, redownloading the patch and then reinstalling GT5 to my HD...

I think it's an omen...

That really sucks dude :(

Now that is an official kick in the jammy! I think I need to back up my game save soon because if this happens I think it's adios for me. I just couldn't see myself going through the whole career thing again.

My ps3 died in the middle of b spec, consider yourself lucky.

I say you need some friends, considering the amount of GTP players here you should have found at least 3. I found 3 and that was just only from playing online, and one guy from on here. My friend list in GT5 is about 10 people in length.

Now as for corrupted game data, how old is that PS3 you are using? What's the space you have in relation to max HDD size, and always make sure that you connection to the internet isn't lagging(usually requires you to reset your router once a week depending on traffic you deal with).

I wonder why PS3 doesn't have a disk defrag built in.

PS3 is about 1 year old Slim. About 50% full.

The whole corrupt game data after frozen lobby thing I recall being a kind of known thing...

Best part? After finally reinstalling it all about half my cars had no thumbnails and for some reason huge chunk of my favorites werne't favorite anymore and the best part...

My mic doesn't work online now :grumpy:

Awesome...

Mic works fine, I can hear people talking in it, when I test it in the XMB it shows working fine and the volume tester shows it registers me talking, but in a lobby in GT? Nope... no sound...

Seriously more crappiness with this game than almost any I can remember...

I thought it was just me having these issues until I saw this thread. Online lobby is the worst implementation of online gaming that I have seen so far, in any game.

I regularly get freezes when I join rooms where a race is in progress. I get lots of random disconnections. When I do manage to join a race (rarely) cars are jumping all over the place, which is very distracting.

Here's hoping PD improve the online aspect in the upcoming patch.
