This is simply a thread to see how much interest this idea will get. Some of you may think it's a little bit of a task and some of you may like the idea - hence why I'm putting this up. This may come about in the future if enough people are willing to do it, but it also may not.
GRAN TURISMO RALLYCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
A championship designed for 16 racers, all of them with a chance of winning.

There will be one time-based qualifying (10 minutes) to create the groups. This will be done using the normal in-game qualifying system. Everyone has a certain amount of time to set their best time. Everyone will also be running alone - so only the other players' lines can be seen (which you can turn off), to prevent collisions and give everyone the best chance of setting their best time.
The car I have in mind to use is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Rally Car, as it resembles an RX car quite heavily. It will also be spec'd to nearly match that of a real-life rallycross car (in excess of 400bhp!).

That's my idea that I've pitched and I'd like to see feedback on whether or not you'd like to see this come to life or not. Please be aware I do have the server issues in mind as they might not appreciate 16 players in the same room at once
, so I am working on an alternative for only 12 racers.

With qualifying over, each group will have 2 heats to try and qualify for the Semi-Finals. Each heat will give points as such:
1st place = 6 points
2nd place = 4 points
3rd place = 2 points
4th place = 1 point
Top 2 overall from each Group advance to the Semi-Finals. With Groups A & D going to Semi-Finals 1, and Groups B & C going to Semi-Finals 2.
1st place = 6 points
2nd place = 4 points
3rd place = 2 points

Top 2 overall from each Group advance to the Semi-Finals. With Groups A & D going to Semi-Finals 1, and Groups B & C going to Semi-Finals 2.
I'm using Group A as the example, but the format is the same in every group.
#4 qualified 1st, and in Group A. They will start 1st for Group A Heat 1. With #8, #39 and #6 behind them. They will do a 4 lap race and lets say the result comes out like this:
1st - #8
2nd - #4
3rd - #6
4th - #39
The Heat Points for Group A now are: #8 - 6pts, #4 - 4pts, #6 - 2pts, #39 - 1pt.
They will then line up in reverse order as such: #39, #6, #4, #8. And lets say the result is:
1st - #39
2nd - #8
3rd - #6
4th - #4
This will now bring the points to: #8 - 10pts, #39 - 7pts, #4 - 5pts, #6 - 4pts.
#8 and #39 have qualified for Semi-Finals 1.

These guys will have a 6 lap race. And lets say the result is:
1st - #2
2nd - #39
3rd - #8
4th - #93
This means that #2, #39 and #8 have all qualified for the six-car Final.
#8 and #39 from Group A qualified, and lets say #2 and #93 qualified from Group D.
These guys will have a 6 lap race. And lets say the result is:
1st - #2
2nd - #39
3rd - #8
4th - #93
This means that #2, #39 and #8 have all qualified for the six-car Final.
This is the final event, where the winner of this race is the overall winner of the round.
From Semi-Finals 1 - #2, #39 and #8 have qualified. While #23, #18 and #45 qualified from Semi-Finals 2 (Groups B & C). They will all have a 6 lap race. If the results come out like this:
1st - #39
2nd - #45
3rd - #8
4th - #18
5th - #2
6th - #23
Car #39, although having placed 9th in the qualifier and last of everyone in the final, came out on top and won the event overall.
From Semi-Finals 1 - #2, #39 and #8 have qualified. While #23, #18 and #45 qualified from Semi-Finals 2 (Groups B & C). They will all have a 6 lap race. If the results come out like this:
1st - #39
