Supposedly...and I stress supposedly, there are quite a few other hypercars that they do as well as this Veyron. This is not the first time I've seen Carrera GT or Lamborghini replica clones...but a Veyron? And they even do SLRs?

Too bad their website is quite crude and "noobish" otherwise I might take them seriously.

=========================================

And this begs the following question among all of you enthusiasts who aren't rich. Would you buy/build a replica if it was the same dimensions inside and out with all the correct bodywork and interior? And I'm talking about some cheap Fiero kit either. Could you live with a replica clone that was PERFECT in every possible way minus the engine? I think I probably could only if the engine at least sounded close to the original--or was at least the same cylinder count (minus the Veyron of course). Like if I had an SLR built I might put in the SL500 engine with a supercharger and tune the hell out of it to get near 600bhp.

Thoughts on both subjects?

It's also a bit dodgy that they don't appear to have any photos of their own cars and are just using press photos of the originals.

If you dig deeper into the site you see some photos of the garage and some fibreglass unpainted body shells.

I found the Lambo (not to be bad), Porsche (OK) and McLaren (horrific) replicas but couldn't see any of the Veyron. It's a truly terrible website layout :)

I don't quite get the point of these type of replicas as surely you look like a complete tool when people either look closer, you start the car or get blown away the lights. At least with Cobra replicas they sound and go like (in some cases better) the original.

Under no circumstances would I ever purchase a replica, unless I bought a replica 250 GTO to drive because I was too scared to drive my real 250 GTO.

But since that's unlikely, no. Never, ever. One day, I will have the money to buy these things for real. There's no sense cheapening it before I can pay to play.

This company didn't learn last time, did it? Jim Napolis has already made it clear there will be no replicas of his P4/5.

I wouldn't mind having one of those replicas. I mean, at least you could own a replica which is 1/10th of the price for the real thing. But of course, it won't be exactly the same nor is it gonna sound good, but I think if people wanted to drive a so called "supercar" nows their chance. Of course, another issue is also the build quality. IF you drive the replicas it might have a chance of getting caught on fire or even the parts starts to fall apart, which is extremely dangerous.

But i'm down with imports, you can't beat that. A R34 Skyline GT-R or a Toyota Supra which is heavily modified can still smoke those supercars while using only 1/5 of your budget (or somewhere around there) :)

D*mmit. I keep thinking of his username. I PMed the link to him, though as I remember him saying he was going to contact someone else who was going to make a replica of his car.

I'd be really, really surprised if they've actually made any. Jim does own the design, though.

Looking through this site, the whole thing seems fake. Aside from a few Lambo shots, I don't think they really show any of these kit cars! I'm not sure I buy any of this.

Agreed. I find it funny how they keep saying (or are implying) that they have the exact interior from the real car in the replica.
Now that's just a load of rubbish. The interior in a SLR would make any car worth more than $40,000. It's way too nice.

I dunno about these, but I'd LOVE to have a replica Countach LP5000S on a contemporary MR chassis. Noughties handling and reliability in one of the most memorable designs of the last 100 years.

Erm, and that heavy modification is free is it? Every time I read "Ya, cos like my Skyline can smoke your Gallardo, like every time. All I needed was a new pair of blowers, and new intercooler, remapped electronics, a new fuel pump and injectors".

Horsepower costs money. How fast can you afford?

On the original topic: No, I wouldn't buy a replica, and no, I don't believe that they can have the exact same interior but keep the costs so low.

Well I'm sorry. I think I got me "fanboyism" going too much there. :guilty:
Its just that, well you spend on those parts, its still gonna be cheaper that buying a supercar. I mean maybe the most your gonna spend on the parts is like somewhere around 100K+ (depending on what parts you buy)
But yeah, seriously I think that these replicas needs to be well made if they want good customers. The site looks just plain odd because they don't have any good photos of the replicas. Besides, some of those pre made replicas just looks awful :yuck:

IMO owning a replica is like owning one of these. The only people who are impressed by replicas are people who know nothing about cars. Why would you want to impress them? You are only going to make yourself look like a loser driving a rep to anyone who has the slightest idea about cars.

I want one...:p

I disagree. I like the Murcielago, I would not be opposed to having a replicar if its the same dimensions and has the interior done too. I'd put an LS1 or something under the bonnet that gives it some power and enjoy it. And I am not a novice when it comes to cars. If someone asked I'd freely admit to it being a replica. I wouldn't be trying to impress anyone either.

I'd have to disagree there, and so would many FChaters. Many seem to agree that as long as they don't try to pass it off as a real one, they'll let them be as they share the same passion, but at a different cost.

A pretty good Vanquish popped up on Autoblog today. I didn't find any differences on my quick search, although the interior looks like it is completely different.

My favorite part is the Bond package that will give you rocket launchers in the grille and a machine gun on the hood.

Oh, I'd hit it. The mear thought of an Aston in any shape or form makes my pants happy. I would DEFINATELY roll an Aston replica. ESPECIALLY a Vanquish.

I've seen a couple of the 355 replicas based on MR2s round here. Instantly recognisable as a load of rubbish with a totally incorrect wheelbase. Only a person who isn't into cars would miss it. That's if they have been made well which the ones I've seen weren't. It would have to be something you can't get anymore for me to want any kind of replica. Cobra etc.

Or this...

So, anyone check the price of that F430 replica McLaren posted yet? No? Well I did and here is the cost:

37,950.00 EUR = 56,502.58 USD
