Interesting thing i found out about GT5

So,i was playing GT5. Pretty fed up of being annoyed by the sounds. The loud hiss and whine(that's supposed to represent the sound of the engine mechanics etc), it does not sound good at all, then i went into my settings on my TV, and turned down the treble to 7, and boom, it was fixed, cars sound much better, annoying whine is gone, Now it's basically just the exhaust/engine noise which sounds alot meatier, especially the V8's, you should give it a try to see how you like it, at the moment, i am very happy with it.

game sounds much better overall, just compared over 30 cars, this is strictly (IMO)
yes i know some cars have bad, wrong samples(Veyron, Sauber, etc)

But this is a quick fix for PD's high pitch whine and hiss that really does sound like a Vacuum cleaner, literally.

But after the adjustments, it's all gone (this may vary on different cars though) LFA for instance sounds miles better in chase cam.

In closing, for me atleast, I can say i enjoy the sounds more, overall.

Hmmm never thought of this. I have a very good sound system so I almost always use neutral sound settings as there's no need to accentuate anything, but the thought of de-emphasizing never occurred to me. I'll give it a shot later today...nice find:tup:👍

I've never really had an issue with the sound. I would like more bass but the construction of my apartment would mean others are disturbed. Perhaps my sound settings just happen to be set right Good to note though!

Be sure to test it out with a V8, ZR1 shows improvements nicely, basically, this just gets rid of that high pitch whine and hissing, that sounds like a vacuum 👍

I've been doing this for a while. Not only treble and bass, but the equalizer too. You set that up right, and you'll never want to drive anything but Ferrari's.

Bass heavy settings do work best, I have a Sony soundbar with subwoofer and the game mostly sounds great through it. However nothing can make the BMW M3 or Ferrari P sportcar or many other cars sound any good at all. It's still no fix for those cars that just don't sound anything like the real thing.

Those cars, just need completely new samples...period, but this is a pretty good fix, i have not ran into the whine an hiss at all( yet ).

I've had my EQ settings like this since 2010 and it may seem like a fix at first but quickly, your ear gets used to it and you'll start to hear unwanted frequencies again, plus, in some TVs, running ''Game Mode'' disables your personal settings, mine does it, luckily, I can still change the picture quality but the sound just defaults to ''Movie''. If you don't use Game Mode then good for you but I think everybody should use it.
