It sounds like this simulator works by having the player drive in GT5P and sensors on the wheel/pedal set feed data to another computer that simulates the energy use and hybrid charge/assist functions.

Safe to assume PD has nothing to do with it, but it is a neat concept and marketing tool, IMO.
 
Yeah looks cool, would have to be just a few sensors on the pedals.
 
I'll have to look for it at the Petit LeMans this year. Nothing like playing some GT5:P while a real race is going on.
