Hey guys, I'v been having problems in GT5 with brightness levels on some tracks when using the interior view.

Basically, any time i race at laguna seca or indy to a certain extent and im using the interior view, the sky and track and anything light colored seems to get over-exposed or somthing. (there may be other tracks that i cant remeber atm)

So much so that its impossible to see any detail in the clouds, and hard to see any lines or such on the road. All other views dont have this issue, and even breifly looking behind myself will "reset" the brightness levels to what looks normal, only for it to go back to bright within 1 second.

Does anyone else get this happen to them? It seems that all the settings are fine on both my TV and in-game, and not all tracks have this happen.

If its an issue with GT5, any word that this issue will be adressed or is it too small of a problem to warrent change. While it may not seem like much, it takes alot away from the experience for me when its almost like i have to squint my eyes just to see the road.

Cheers

It's not a bug. It's the nature of the game's lighting system - it's meant to emulate the human eye, but admittedly it does go a bit extreme at times.

Just turn down the exposure in the in-race option menu if you plan on using cockpit view on a permanent basis.

Oh, so its actually the way the game is ment to be.
Surely someone during testing would have noticed this issue and made some kind of changes to the specific tracks to lower the brightness.

Thanks for such a quick respose and for sheding some light on the subject. (ugh bad pun)

The lighting system is actually fairly accurate. The problem is the game has no way of knowing what you are focusing on, as in real life your pupils will dilate or constrict based on what you are looking at to expose it correctly.

So as far as i can tell it tries to make as much of the track correctly exposed as possible which leaves the sky over exposed and the interior underexposed. As Crimson said, adjust the in-game exposure setting to try and get it a little closer to your preference.

Isn't that annoying? I switch views quite a bit when I'm racing so I turn down the brightness so the interior view isn't so screwed up and then I switch to the bumper cam it's too dark! argh! I really hope PD will patch this somehow.

I hate how sometimes the interior view gets so dark it's hard to see the dials and instrumental cluster properly.
