International Touring Championships

Hey guys, I've been thinking a lot lately about cars included in thelast GT games and the possibilities and probabilities of more professional racing careers in GT4.
After seeing so many touring race cars over the years, don't you think it would be wise for PD to contact the international touring car federations and include REAL Touring Car Championships in GT4? I mean, GT3 included the JGTC, some real DTM cars and even a freakin' Ford Falcon from the V8 Supercar Championship! GT2 had a racing Audi TT and some other touring cars. I know Codemasters' Pro Race Driver (or Toca Race Driver in Europe) already have these licenses, but I bet they're not exclusive... It would be fantastic to participate in "real" DTM, V8 Supercars, JGTC, BTCC...
What do you think, people?
 
you know the GT games have the official JGTC license...well according to the site!

What I'm trying to say is: it would be great if more official Touring Car Championship races are available in GT4 and these races are approved by the corresponding racing associations. JGTC is in. What about the others?
 
PD couldn't put the TOCA, DTM or V8 Supercars series into a GT game, not for a wile at least, Codemasters own the rights to all three of thoes series, however the idea is sound, and it would add to game.
 
I love the older BTCC cars (I.e. pre 99 or so), think I missed something when all of a sudden everything changed in the BTCC 'shake up'.


I loved the days of bumper bending mayhem when cavaliers & BMW's went head to head... Nigel Mansell getting p*ssed off @ Tiff Needell :lol: & the BTCC Volvo 850, which could have several crashes yet still complete or even win the race :D

So ummm, yeah, touring cars would be good :)
 
...agree BTCC cars from late 90th´s would be great just the cars it doesnt have to be official..sob the S40 was waay cool back then and it sounded nice to:D

but how about JTCC(Japanese Tou..ahh you know the drill!)..I havent seen it in any games infact I havent heard of the series since mid 90th´s.. so do they still run? because that would be perfect since PD has a thing for Japanese cars!
 
That's cool too... some "classic" touring cars would add much to the experience...
 
The old 500Bhp beasts, that raced in touring championships in the late 80's to early 90's like the Ford Sierra R500. That thing was fantastic.
 
A lot of former BTCC cars have already been in GT2. Just put racing bodies on Nissan Primeras or Ford Mondeos.

And we had DTM cars in GT3, as well as the Abt Audi TT-R in GTC.

It's more then likely we'll get some more touring cars as well as the classics in GT4.
 
the scca series should be a great addition to gt4, especially the "speed" series gt class and touring class
 
The closest you will get to racing them in competition is in the "GT World Championship" races. The action is based on the potential of cars and their power. So that's why in GT3, the beginner stages had mostly rally cars and GT300s (hey, rally cars are still race cars, you know!), Amateur had mostly JGTC and DTM from what I can remember, and Professional had the Le Mans prototypes and high-powered GT cars.

Now to see a battle between them all would be incredible. Touring cars meet GT. You can also throw in one of those ugly Volvo station wagons that were GT3 racers (expect negative responses about the Volvo wagons, John...). Now, I'm not saying that PD should not challenge Codemasters, but Codemasters can do a great job of making multiple courses with many cars, and many at a time. I can recall the "12 or 14 to a track" deal. I don't know how they do it, but they can.

The ITC, if you will, is a great idea, and I'm sure when you go play GT4 online, you can make it a semi-exclusive race series.

Ugly.........Volvo...........sorry I can't comprehend such a notion :lol:

'Ugly' Volvos managed to win enough races to wipe the smug faces off the competiton :trouble: Let alone the fact unlike the other cars, they could crash & keep on running :D

Volvo won plenty of races in the BTCC.
