Internet problems on home computer, wires in jack off or something like that

For some reason when my father hooked my internet to my computer he used a wire where all the little colored wires arent IN the little jack but somehow were on the little (lets call them) metal pokey thingies or prongs

So I took out the internet wire (big mistake) and when putting it back into my computer...NETWORK CONNECTION LOST, A WIRE IS UNPLUGGED

I tried pushing all the little tiny wires in the prong thingies a few times and even tried taping the wires still so they wouldnt come loose on the metal prong things...no luck

Help...please

Those cables aren't expensive. Just buy a new one rather than trying to repair it.

Or "borrow" one from your school/workplace.

Yeah, you could damage your computer trying to use stripped cords. I'm not sure if you'll be able to read any of our suggestions though...
