Hi.

I'm afraid that I'm a bit late to the party as far as the PS2 is concerned - I've only just bought one (games are so cheap when a console is about to be superceded), along with every version of GT for PS2 (inc prologue and concept). I've been playing the game since the release of the PAL GT1 and until very recently was still doing time trials with GT2 on an original 1995 PS1. I can only say that 3 & 4 blew my mind when I loaded them up for the first time.

Fantastic forum here (I have been lurking for a while) and have thoroughly enjoyed reading Scaff's articles on tuning and testing - most of which is still relevant for 1 & 2.

Time will dictate my posting and playing amounts over the next month or so as I'm moving to Switzerland, but I'll chip in when and where I can :)

Have fun

Andy

Welome to GTP, most people are helpful here and easy to get along with. It's good that you've taken your time to read around a bit first, gives you an idfea of how to find what your looking for better.

Hi Andy, I agree totally, I always buy consoles a couple of years after they come out. I was able to get the slim PS2 straight off this way. Also, you know what good games to look at as they have been tried and tested. I got my PS2 in December 2004, I still only have 4 games for it though, as I have been busy with other things. I have Armored Core 3, Goldeneye Rogue Agent, XIII and Gran Turismo 4. I like to finish my games 100% too, which I have done with Armored Core 3 and Goldeneye Rogue Agent. I am up to the last battle on XIII, but I just can't seem to crack it (console controllers just aren't the same as a mouse and keyboard when it comes to FPS's). I'm in the process of clocking GT4 at present. I also still play some games on my PS1, because I had it modded and can't use the copies on my PS2.

Welcome to GTPlanet Slaphead, just a word of advice, don't get on the mod's bad side, and you will be fine. Rescept what other people have to say, and you will be fine. I think you will find everyone here to be quite friendly, and the vast majority of us can take a light-hearted joke, as long as it isn't taken too far. Enjoy 👍

Hey, welcome to GTP!

Don't worry, I just got a PS2 around a month ago. GT4 was my first game, and it's great, ain't it?

I have to say, Andy, great second post. Spelling, punctuation - it's all there. Nicely done.

Now that that is out of the way, welcome to the planet. It is apparent that you have indeed been lurking for a while since you already found Scaff's guides. Enjoy the rest of your stay, however long it is.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys :) I look forward to becoming a regular contributor here, and I may (when I get one of those Max drive things) start to take part in some OL events as well.

As I said earlier I'm in the midst of a very big move at the moment so I may be a bit quiet for a little while.

Cheers and have a good weekend

Andy

I'm just wondering why you quoted my previous post in this thread before adding your comments. Do you think my English is bad? Or do you hate me because I'm a new member? Please enlighten me. :grumpy:

Welcome to the forum! If you like GT so much, I recommend you try Tourist Trophy, well worth it ;)

Welcome. Please don't stop coming here after five or so posts like many others seem to do. Have a good time. And please, oh please, don't try to act smart in front of Famine. He'll e-eat-you-alive. Like, yeah, you didn't think it was possible over the internent, but he can even do it through a wireless connection. I know. You should also know that Famine is indigo, not purple. Bold.

You seem like a good chap, and I sort of like you already. See you 'round.

Well, honestly, indigo isn't THAT different to purple, just a slightly darker shade

INDIGO
PURPLE

see...?

Oh god.

Let's hope Famine doesn't see that.

Fam deserves repect or he'll bust a Jack Bauer on your ass. Everyone knows that. And he can easily tell the diffference between purple and indigo.

Many people gets those two colors mixed up by accident, but he's gotta be the first one to do it on purpose!

Welcome to gtplanet, Andy. Very good to have you! :)

Welcome to GTP! :)

And yes, avoid Famine, as every newbie is told nowadays...

Lol, yeah, although if you are good to Famine, he is good to you. Welcome to GTP mate, enjoy it.
P.S Where do you live at the moment then? Good luck in moving to Switzerland!

Famines alright...

As long as you don't look into his eyes.
