Since the new update people dont load up during online races. Like the only people that i can see or hear are the people that was in the room as i joined. I didnt even notice til someone called me a prick and said that i lost him the race. But during the race i was in first for like 8 laps, then got into a nice duel with someone i can see. During the whole race i felt no one hiting me or me hiting anyone i couldnt see (i have a buttkicker thats would vibrate if such a thing would happen) i check my connection and its pretty good usually in the excellent. does anyone else have this issue? Has anyone found a fix?

I was racing at Rome online and could see sparks on the road ahead of me. This was the case for about a lap untill the sparks went into the wall :)

For me there's an indication this is happening, on the entry screen those players that are invisible show as loading indefinitely (grayed out name and load bar under user name, never hilights blue even when on track). If there's even one player like that in the room I'll back out to avoid smashing them. But I have a bad connection, not sure why yours would be doing that. Are these maybe servers with other people lagging or something?

No idea why it happens or how to fix it but it is not just a one off. I can never race my mate Michael as this always happens to one of us when we enter the room. 👎

This has happened to me before, where over half the room is invisible. I am not sure how to fix it completely, but forcing the room to reload, by changing the map or settings, or leaving and coming back sometimes helps. I am also interested in why it is happening, so if anyone knows I would appreciate it.

It seems like it happens when people join and then the host changes something in the settings or the map before they load. This is only a guess though.

^^^ What he said, also if you go to the options & clear your network cache then restart your PS3. Set your lounge settings:
Race Quality = Standard
Voice Chat Quality = Low

I have Nat type 2 & very high bandwidth but this has happened to me once & it happened to others I raced with but taking these steps seems to reduce the chances of it happening. I suspect it's more to do with PD's/Sony's servers as I never have connection issues with other games.

I also have this issue and evan made a thread about it myself " https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=206219 "

But so far noone seems to have a permenent fix for it :( I have tryed all the sugested fix's clear cache, re-join room, get host to change track, evan moved from wireless connection to wired. I think this is a Sony/PD server issue or fault, and with the new announcement that PD will contiue to suport the GT5 Prolouge servers this frustrates me evan more as I feel that is just wasted resorces that could be used to improve GT5's servers

I have NAT Type 2, Bandwith High. GT5 is the worst online experince ive had, no other game ive played online has these issues, and for me they all started back at the 1.06 update for GT5 and just got worse since.

I agree with you 100% I don't have any problems with any other online racing game I only have problems with GT5. Instead of them giving us racing helmets and suits and the option to buy tires and other tune stuff online they need to put there time in making the online problems fixed first. Don't get me wrong I very much appreciate all they do as far a the new content they add to the game but to me they need to work on the real problems first.
