I agree with all that Azuremen just said, it is a major pain to submit apps to the app store and that's even if they get taken, apple likes to have full control over what your device does. I think its a little nosey, and Tesla you really cant say anything against jailbreaking because you have never tried it in the first place. If you would of tried it then said that people are content with stock (boring) iOS I would be cutting you some slack. Azuremen is correct 1,000,000 times over. I guess I am a misfit who went against apple.

A million times is a bit much. Most of my issues with the current versions of iOS is just the restrictions Apple puts on system access. And I personally wouldn't want to develop for it.

99% of people wouldn't even notice a difference in user experience with Jailbreak.

And I have a feeling you aren't using much than theming and GUI changes from a Jailbreak.

It is annoying that Apple gets to decide what is and isn't available for the app store, but that admittedly mostly just keeps me from installing apps that are more in grey area of legality such as emulators. Big deal. If my experience with emulators on the Zune HD is any indication, playing games designed for controllers on a touchscreen device is an awful experience anyways. And the app submission process, while a pain in the rear for developers, is completely meaningless to the end users. And considering how rich in content the App Store is, it obviously isn't bad enough to deter most developers either.

The only reason the App store has what it has is because people buy Apple products like they have a need to, and thus it is the larger part of the mobile software market. The lack of publishing a beta, ease of submission, etc really do irk a lot of developers.

Meanwhile, we are getting to were one can write, compile, and install Java applications all on their Android device.

Given that Samsung make a lot of Android devices I wouldn't be so sure about that. They're probably already working on their version.

Last I checked, Samsung is hung up on AMOLED displays, which honestly suck compared to IPS in terms of contrast and color representation.

There is barely any difference unless you sit staring at them side by side under extreme lighting! The white balance on some of the Samsung devices is a bit off but that's all and unless you really really look for it you'll never notice.

With Google Play being launched they'd be mad not to counteract. They're the only company that has had any real success against Apple in the tablet market and with Android being the most widely used mobile OS in the world (and it's expected to grow even further) they're either going to grow and release new products or just stop competing and focus on their phone market. I imagine the 2nd option wouldn't go down well with Google though, hence my thoughts on new releases.

Your eyes are not my eyes, I can pick up a device and tell the display tech almost instantly - yellows and blues make it pretty clear.

That aside, they will react in some way, but I feel it will be a while before anything with comparable resolution comes to market, and especially for gaming at a native resolution. Not to say anything like a game would run at the iPad 3's native resolution, but just the thought of it I guess.

Well I am doing more than that.

Cool bro, cool.

How so? Have you ever seen what Apple requires a dev to do in order to okay an application for iOS?
Yes I have, several times. It's not a big deal and you should take care of those things anyway. The only developers that complain about that are the crappy ones, really. If you just want to play with your own apps on your own device, you're screwed though, you need to pay for access to the developer portal to do that.

That said, I encourage anyone to do with the device whatever they want, after all it's theirs. Jailbreaking shows the true power of the device and iOS. :)

That would be insane, since it requires a fairly decent PC setup to play games at 1920x1080 at 60FPS. Imagine that fitting in the palms of your hands, damn! Eventually it will be possible though.
