iPhone Voice Memo Question

Ok, I've recorded a lecture using the standard iPhone voice memo app. I trimmed it on my iMac in iTunes, not on the iPhone itself. However after I trimmed it, the trimmed section did not reappear in the voice memo app, but rather in the iPod. Is there any way to get it back into the voice memo app?
