iPod Chargers

Well, I'm a bit sick of charging my video iPod through the computer (which seems on the edge of dying after the iPod is charged) every week, so I'm looking for a wall charger for the iPod. Now, the Apple charger is WAY overprice for something that should've been included with the iPod anyway ($30 bucks! :yuck: ), so I'm looking for other iPod chargers.

Currently, I'm looking at this charger, which seems to be pleasantly cheap and comes with its own cable to connect to the iPod dock connector. However, one review mentioned something about how using the charger, the iPod is fully charged in 3 minutes, which made me suspect that this may be damaging to the battery.

So, any suggestions?

I was thinking about looking into this as well. You are right, they should have included it with the iPod. How cheap. Well, I'm cheaper, so I was thinking about browsing on eBay for some cheap knockoff imports. :D

But the thing is, if the cheap knockoff imports do damage the iPod battery or something, I very much doubt if Apple will replace the iPod under warrantee since it was damaged by an aftermarket item that was not endorsed by Apple. And if the review is true and the thing do charge the battery to full charge in 3 minutes, then the battery is probably already damaged by the charger.

Your video iPod never came with a charger? Odd. It should have unless Apple is so cheap they opted not to include it. My fourth generation iPod came with a charger, so why wouldn't a video iPod ship with one? Thirty bucks is not a high price to pay for a charger though, IMO.

Odd. Mine came with a USB cable, Firewire cable and a charger that connects to the Firewire cable.
I bought mine used from my kid brother. I'm pretty sure it didn't come with a regular charger though.

The iPod video doesn't have a charger in order to imporve the aesthetics of the box.

So the iPod video's box looks like this.

As opposed to this

I know lots of people (myself included) who would rather have a less beautiful box with more acsessories included. But if you are one of the people in this camp it looks like iRiver is the only way forward.
