I need a decent gaming computer, capable of playing iracing specifically on a medium quality. Other games I would like to play are probably less than iracing so that's all I really need to know about. Also, If I have never started iracing are there any good deals they have? I really need to start getting serious because I heard about this game and that the physics are as real as it gets. I have been playing GT5 w/ a DFGT since release. So, I really need some new excitement but is it really worth it? I am mostly wondering about FFB on iracing because it is a MMO technically and just wondering what you guys think.

Also, I apologize in advance if this was in the wrong area, I just don't have anyone specific to talk about this.

How about....:
An AMD phenom II or Intel i5/i7 cpu with 8gb DDR 3 memory. nvidia gtx 560 ti or AMD Radeon HD 6870 (AMD 7850). Decent amount of hdd space. Something along those lines should run medium/high settings just fine @ 1080p.

You can do the free month of iracing to see if you like it. I'm going to wait at least a few more months for them to sort out the physics a bit more before I resubscribe. I really enjoyed the races, buuut I have other games to play.

I loved iracing. As a matter of fact my subscription ran out today, I agree with above post. I'm going to wait a month or two before I resubscribe. Well worth the money IMO.

Also I have. Brand new g27 in the box never opened, if you are interested

Huge iRacing section of the forum right here:

This is good though Harrison, you'll have to learn to control your temper and be a lot more clean if you plan on doing iRacing, but their system is set up perfectly for that so I won't worry.

It is somewhat of a deep end to dive into, but if you are serious, you can have a lot of fun.

And your DFGT will work fine. In-fact, a lot of the "aliens" on iRacing choose to go with the DFGT because of its relatively weak FFB which, to them, only get in their way of going fast. I know Ray Alfalla uses it, and he won the NASCAR world championship and always finishes highly in the road series as well.

If your subscription runs out, wait until you get an e-mail offering you 3 months for $12. It will come eventually. That's how i've been running my subscription for the last 12 months.

Haha nice. Thanks for the heads up.

Also, e-mail Logitech for a loyalty discount. They will give you 50% off on a G27 ($150 shipped).

As for a PC rig, just google around. You'll find a ton of info on teh interwebs. For starters though, what is your budget?

I think hes leaving out that it will probably be a couple months before they send the offer.

Correct, I did leave that little detail out by mistake. It can be anywhere from 1 to 3 months. My most recent 3 month offer was just a 1 month wait.

For the computer to run the game on, I don't know. 500-600$ depending on how much is NEEDED

Do you have a monitor, keyboard, mouse or windows 7? If you have none of that $600 could be awfully difficult to get that done. For example this is a $500 build from Toms Hardware:

Problem is that doesn't include windows, a monitor, mouse, keyboard, shipping or taxes.

Windows is $100
Monitor $100 (minimum)
Keyboard/mouse combo $20

So as you can see we are out of that budget and I don't think anything less than that $500 build would run iracing at anything playable.

Yes, if you consider just the computer itself (forgetting OS and peripherals), i'd suggest something like this:

Case - Haf 912 = $55
CPU - i5-3570k Ivy Bridge = $190 (Price matched to Microcenter)
GPU - Radeon HD 6850 = $140
MoBo - ASrock Z77 Extreme4 = $135 (BIOSTAR TZ77XE3 for $130)
PSU - Corsair 600TX = $80 (Can go lower and save $10-$20)
RAM - 4GB Corsair RAM = $25 (8GB for $50)
OD - Asus 24x Internal Drive = $27 (Older gen at $18)
HDD - Depends really = $50-$100

Total = $702
Estimate if you do get the CPU discounted with price match in a local store. That means you'll have to pay tax. = $730

Everything else can be bought without tax online since you are in Oregon (Newegg has CA tax 👎).

Future proof with the new gen CPU and Mobo. You should be able to max everything out and get 100+ FPS at 1080p in single screen (while testing by yourself)(I own both a 6850 and a the new gen 7850). Expect FPS to drop as you race with other people. Will also depend on track size. You can heighten performance by Overclocking. When you do, make sure to buy an aftermarket CPU cooler (CM Hyper 212 Plus or Evo $30).

Yeah... I have a monitor, but that is fine thanks for the help guys. If I decide to join I might sell my ps3 because I heard they have a great community.
