Okay, we're getting kicked out of certain UN groups and getting critiscized for our actions in the war but we're still the most powerful country in the world. Are we that bad?

You (your country) is like a school bully, you cant keep your nose out of other peoples business, just like the bully, you sometimes pay for your actions!

Hmm, I agree with Hanker, but someone is going to come along and reel off one big speil about why we're wrong.

My guess is Doug, or Duke.

Being powerful won't make you as popular as you might think in this age. Overall, America is a country that is full of good people, but they're very ignorant. On the other hand, most of the world looks down on us, yet we still drive much of the world's economy and our likely to be one of the greatest impediments to any psycho that doesn't agree to kumbaya politics. So, we'll be treated sub par, at least verbally, but still take it. I blame our mistakes on low self esteem.

Pay for our actions? Interesting concept. So, by logical fairness, if we are inactive or use strategies preferred by your nations, or others, we should share negative consequences.

Hindsight is 20/20.

Choose your lesser of two evils when faced with the choice.

Accept for the possibility of some obscure page on the internet, few explain the superiority of other plans and how the implemented one was weaker.

I've heard Canada's forces number in the 50-60k. Since we're spread thin, not much with our ground forces. Excluding mega weapons, you're safe. I'm not a strategist, but I'd estimate that we could beat you by attrition, but it depends on several factors. One of which is funding. Overall, we'd probably out last you.

:banghead: Oh My God! Another ****ing war hungry american! yes anerica is bad. they brainwash you with even the most simplist things and ways. but nevertheless the war in Iraq was much needed, my brother was there and he saw the mass graves of Saddam's people, first hand. He also saw one family including kids tied in telephone cable and then shot and another family, including kids, tied in BARBED WIRE! and then shot! So by my first statement doesn't mean that i think all wars are bad but have you ever listened to Black Sabbath's War Pigs?

I think it is our business. It's our business when our trade centers are the ones knocked down. It's our business when our allies are invaded, and it's our business when our cease fire terms are broken.

How did canada vote on the UN resolution to enforce the disarmament terms for Saddam Hussein (or do they get to do that)?

Cease fire terms? What the crap? We attacked. Period. Bush says 'saddam has WMD!' Saddam says ' I got rid of them like i was told to! Im a good boy!'. Now....wheeeere are those WMD that bush was so sure saddam had? Oh wait...lets focus on their oil production now instead. Sorry, but its not right that we should force our values on others when they arent doing anything to provoke us. And...just which of our allies were invaded?

. Sorry, but its not right that we should force our values on others when they arent doing anything to provoke us.

We can do whatever we want to a country that violates our cease fire agreement because technically that means we're still at war.

Now....wheeeere are those WMD that bush was so sure saddam had?

You're right. I forgot about that I was too busy concentrating on how we're going to steal oil. Oh yea, we're working on that. Iraq is a big enough country. Why don't you calm down and give the folks over there a little time? Oh, and we know he had them. He used them to slaughter his people.

Oh wait...lets focus on their oil production now instead.

Now why would we do that? We aren't using their oil. We're helping them get back on their feet.

Care to elaborate?

Yes, I believe we were all looking to see dead Iraqis. I certainly hadn't gotten my fill death. I remember thinking:

"Wow, how long has it been since I've see people killed in other countries... let's go attack someone!"

But we are using their oil...or have you forgotten that the US uses more than 50% crude than the rest of the world? And wake up, bush practically admitted that he was wrong about the WMD.

Like whats a bad thing? If youre referring to me saying that the US uses more than half the crude in the world (consumption wise)...no, I dont overly care....until we go take over a country for it under the guise that we're looking for weapons that our president isnt absolutely positive they have.

Iraq accounted for 2.5% of the oil we consumed '02. At the end of '02 we cut the amount of oil we got from Iraq by roughly 90 percent. So going into '03 they accounted for much less than 1 percent of our oil intake.

Our "dependence" on iraqi oil is rediculously overstated and not at all a valid reason for any kind of invasion. Not to mention the fact that now the reserves belong to the people of Iraq rather than a dictator.

Bush admitted what? What part was he wrong about? That they had WMD (proven because of the video footage of the genocide Saddam brought on his own people). Or was he wrong about the fact that Iraq wouldn't cooperate with inspectors?

Dude, you can commit genocide with guns, fire, stones...anything. And sure...we dont need the oil now...but when something happens elsewhere, it sure would be nice to have a liberated country to help us out when we need it!

Point is he had WMD and killed his people with them.

I'd like to point out here also that France (key opposition to American policy with Iraq) is the one who had a big stake in Iraqi oil. They controled roughly a fourth of all Iraqi oil reserves.

Now that's some serious oil (Iraq has 2nd largest reserves in the world). That's a big reason to oppose the US enforcing the UN resolution.

it sure would be nice to have a liberated country to help us out when we need it!

It would be nice to have a liberated country in the middle of the middle east to help break up the anti-american sentiment. Too bad it created a new batch of anti-american sentiment among many of the Iraqi oil entreched European nations.

yea. I hate it. It's gotten really over used, but I can't seem to get away from using it myself. We need new terminology. Any suggestions?

"Chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons" just doesn't have the same ring.

Was Russias big reason to oppose the US enforcing the UN resolution was that they were selling military equipment to Iraq? A move that is banned by the UN sanctions? Oh, and wasn't France also doing the very same thing?

Russian equipment was used against our soliders... I guess it serves us right for helping them out after their economic disaster.

I agree. 👍 But you have to say it like Samuel L. would in Pulp Fiction.
