I keep hearing that 3dtv's are worse for you than normal tv's. I found this from the Wiki

Some viewers have complained of headaches and eyestrain after watching 3D films. There have been several warnings, especially for the elderly. Motion sickness, in addition to other health concerns, are more easily induced by 3D presentations.

There are primarily two effects of 3D TV that are unnatural for the human vision: crosstalk between the eyes, caused by imperfect image separation, and the mismatch between convergence and accommodation, caused by the difference between an object's perceived position in front of or behind the screen and the real origin of that light on the screen.

I haven't personally used a 3dtv for gaming but I have done it for movies, (Which is about as much as I could handle before I had to do something else)

Edit: Here is an article for you to read about the health risk and 3dtv gaming. http://www.techradar.com/us/news/television/is-3d-tv-and-gaming-a-health-risk-993456

I use 3D for PS3 games, 360 games, and blu ray movies on the PS3. Movies can be incredible in 3d!!! Its worth having 3d just for 3d movies. Ads an insane amount of depth perception to each 3d movie. The Hobbit and Finding Nemo are mind blowing amazing in 3d.

Some games like Killzone 3, Gears Of War 3, Halo CE anniversary all look very good in 3d. I would recommend 3d at least for 3d movies. Plus most of the 3d movies you purchase will make your games look WAY better because of the higher refresh rate. Its really a win win for gaming and movies. 👍

As for health risk, I have played up to 13 hours straight using 3d with no problems. I did take a few minutes break here and there for bathroom and eating.

I have a Sony Bravia 40" 3d tv with 240 hz refreshrate. Stunning quality! Plus with the next generation of gaming at the end of the year, a 3dtv will be the way to go.
