I've seen that the server for GTP is either having some problems, or is being upgraded or moved, and some problems may occur. The only reason I'm saying this is because I keep getting this message:

There seems to have been a slight problem with the GTP Forums database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

I realise that this will be a common occurence, and what worries me is this message:

If you get 60 users to post 200 messages in the space of 2 hours, how full is the inbox going to be with these sort of messages?

Let's hope that the problem sorts itself out in a hurry!

Yeah - last time we did that I remember Jordan telling me he got thousands of messages. I pity him very much when he opens up his mail next.

Agreed. I hope this thing sorts itself out quickly.

Odd.... I can view GTP normally but when I post I get the DB error, plus thread counts are not going up.
Yep, that's what I'm getting also. I refresh the Rumble Strip and it still views this thread as having no replies...

I've been getting the same thing as you guys. I'll have to Refresh & Retry just to see this post. This has been going on for a few weeks now, on & off. I hope it's straightened out soon, for everybody's sake.

A few weeks, do you say? That's pretty weird. Are you sure it's "weeks"?

Yeah, I think about 3 or 4 weeks. Not every day, but once a week, I guess.
That IS weird!

Another strange thing is that while the server doesn't update replies, ie to threads , it updates messages that you send and receive.

Okay this is freaking weird, according to this thread there are no replies..........What is happening........I'm afraid....Just kidding, but sinuously I hope this gets fixed Petty soon:odd:

About two or three times a day GTP slows to a crawl for me when ever I try to load it. The latest being about two hours ago. I sure hope Jordan gets the site moved to the new server sometime soon.

I just tried to edit mt last thread & I couldn't even get it through. What I wanted to say was that I haven't seen it this bad before. There were big problems with the server about a month ago. Other than that, there are times when the server is real sloooooow. I'm using ex-reply for this, hope it works. I'll come back tomorrow & stop making matters worse now.

Yeah I've tried to edit my thread and the message I posted above keeps coming through, even when I refresh it.

This has already been explained by Jordan. It's because the server ran out of disk space. Thus, any new posts could not be stored.

Jordan has also already explained that he has purchased a new server. Moving a site like this onto a new server is not the work of a moment, and he is currently planning the move process. This is the best way forward, since it minimises the chances of anything going wrong. He also has a real life to lead.

I know it's frustrating when you can't access your favourite web site, but please bear with us during this time.

OK, so should we stay away in the mean time? Or can we go on like normal?

If the disk is full, how are all these posts showing up? Although I did notice that the post count displays zero.

I've been getting than about half of the time when I post something, but hitting refresh fixes it on the first try. GTP has been timing out a lot over the past couple days. If it's handling everything well now, I don't see why we'd need to stop posting.

No no, stay here. Just bear with us during these difficult times.
