Belgium
in the land of stupidity
I was wondering if there are members who are interested in visiting Belgium? If so, we could meet and drive around Europe (I know my way around here). Maybe visit the 'ring in Germay etc... Belgium isn't that interested to visit but it is central situated in Europe. I'll be glady to be you personal "cab driver".
There are 2 hotels where I live, so that won't be any problem.

Yeah, I'm coming with Easter every year :dopey:

Well, to visit my family actually, I hate drving through Belgium, it's just

BTW: How's the weather there now kikkie?

Oh and, this thread sounds much more something for the Local Gatherings maybe?

Hazy (grey sky with the sun "peeping" through the grey clouds). Dry, no wind and about 11° C.

Maybe Ultrashot is right. Can a mod move this thread if necessary?

WallRunner's guide to moving your thread

To move your thread to another forum (ex. "Local Gatherings") click on "thread tools" above your post, then select "move thread" then click on the button at the bottom of the menu. Everything else is pretty easy to do.

From,
Chris.
P.S. Sounds like a nice trip, but I couldn't go, unless this thread, much less GTP lasts until I'm 18.

Well kikkie, I'll visit you when I'm there with Easter

BTW: We have snow here, nah nah nah nah nah :D

I live in Belgium. The only reason people shoud come here is because we have more than 500 beers. Wich is quite a lot since Belgium is one of the smallest country's in the world. That is actualy the only interesting thing about my country. Apart from that we pay lot's of taxes, our politicians are idiot's and it's easyer to get out of prison than it is to get in. And since the brasilians bought themselves in in our bigest brewing company (caled interbrew) and formed inBEV, even our beerindustry is --- up.

This is the best description EvA I've read about our country in ages. Although, you forgot to mention the stupid Wallonian politicians and that Belgians can't drive.

Don't forget our chocolate.

And about the snow thingy, i do hope that we get a lot of snow this year.
My dad loves to drive around in the snow with his 4x4, and you can find me sitting next to him with a smile on my face :)
And I like to drive around on my scooter when it's a bit slippery.

The best exemble of a walonian politician:

the drunk Michel daerden

Edit:

daerden in a reagge mix

A few months ago I went on a business trip to Brussels. I didn't see much because I was only there for the day. I left the house at 4:30am and got home at 10:00pm. It was a knackering day!

What I did see was very nice though. The ale was fantastic! I wasn't to impressed with the drivers there though!!

You see, I was right. We can't drive.
We are the most selfish, egocentric drivers on the planet. The space around our car is personal possession and the other driver is always at fault. :D

You've got Spa-Francorchamps, so it can't be that bad.

Although, given the size of the junction at La Source, we should be able to guess at Belgian driving habits:

Spa got cancelled this year ==> F1, enough said?? ;)

And every year that there isn't a belgian grand prix, our country has to give 15.000.000 euro's to Bernie because the walonian politician who signed the contract didn't read it first.

That money comes from the Flanders, so the Walloon politicians don't give a ****!

Anyone on this site who wants to complain about Belgium or has an anecdote that you want to share, now is you chance.

Complain?

OK, this time only then :D

Traffic! My god, it's hell to drive through it

yes, and our fries. But everybody thinks that they are french.
Well, not the whole world. We know in France that french fries actually come from Belgium.
But even in Belgium now it becomes harder to find a friterie/frituur making fries directly from potatoes and not from some deep-frozen pre-fried fries.

I want a neuhaus chocolate soccerball. I've been to brussels 3 times about a month at a time. Too bad my folks moved back to the states.

There are still some. More than you think. :)

again double post, sorry, damn

So, you wanted to stay here.
I want to leave this stupid little country and others want to come and live here.

No, I never lived there. I just wanted to have someone in my family living in europe so I could visit without hotel and food expenses. :D

I’ll be in Europe again at some point in the future, I’ll send you a PM when I go, we can have a beer or four.

I'm just curious...

Why are you asking people about going on a vacation when Winter is about to arrive? Maybe Summer would be a better time.

I know there are some, what I mean is : you can't simply go to the first frituur you find and expect the fries to be great. That was perhaps the case 15 or 20 years ago but not anymore.
