You guys know how GT5 game progress is tied to your PSN ID, and you have to have the game save file also? Is BF3 and MW3 like that? Or is your player level stored online? Do you need the save file? It is locked to your PSN ID I assume right? What if you have the game save file of somebody else, and you start the game without signing in? Will their singleplayer progess be available?

Thanks

Ah thanks guys. Is GT5 online stored online too? Or if you lose your game save you will be at level 0?

So really, for BF3 and MW3, you just need to have a disc, any PS3, and the same PSN ID and you can have all your online progress where ever you go right?

Also, what did you mean by copy protected? The same way GT5 is protected?

If you lose your GT5 save data file, or it goes corrupt, your in-game progress(what you've unlocked and achieved offline) is lost. Only statistical data is stored online.

Copy protected as GT5 once was before it's first patch, means the save file is locked to the system and cannot be backed up to another device. If you are a PSN Plus member you may be able to back it up under cloud storage, but I'm not positive on that The MW3 save file is not copy protected, so it can be backed up to another device. I'm not sure if the save file will allow to be played on another system though.

So it doesn't matter if your ps3 breaks all of a sudden, and you have to get a new PS3. All your online progress (the stuff that matters) is all stored online right? I just need to be signed in to the same network ID and I have all my stuff?

Correct. I play both games over 2 ps3 s. One lives in my backpack and travels and my main one stays home.
