I currently use the DFP. But really looking at getting a new wheel soon. I dont really have any use for the clutch, but im huge on paddle shifters.

Is the GFGT built better than DFP? Better FFB? Does anyone know of any mods for DFP or GT for bigger paddles?

Thank You all

Awesome, thank you so much. I couldn't seem to find a "for sure" word if GT was better than Pro, because my Pro is almost 4 years old now haha So I expected more than just added dials to be upgraded on GT. I think I will defiantly be getting it.

I've used both. I would have to say, if you already have a working DFP, that the DFGT is not appreciably better to spend the extra money on. Especially if you plan on using it with games other than just GT5.

It is notably better in some ways. It has a smoother, more efficient operation, and it conforms to your hands better than the DFP did. The wheel itself is larger, and it has more buttons.
However, it is also worse in others. The button placement is weird for several of the buttons. The FFB effect is not as strong (though, again, it is smoother/quieter). And the biggest problem is that it lacks the manual lock that the DFP had, so it simply doesn't work as well for games that don't use 900 degrees of lock. The pedals were about the same in feel/accuracy.

Of course, each one of these criticisms apply to each person differently, but as far as a definite answer goes, I say no.

In my person opinion, I believe the DFGT is an excellent upgrade from the DFP!

I had a 100% working DFP, however, after trying a DFGT once at a motor show, I couldn't believe how much of an improvement it was over the DFP. Luckily, I stumbled across a 2nd hand (99.95% new) DFGT for AUD$70 and instantly bought it. I haven't looked back since.

I've plugged both my DFP and DFGT into the PS3 for some 2 player action of GT5P and the difference is very noticeable. The grip is much nicer, you don't get the rubber going all sticky and rubbing off, the wheel is a bit bigger and overall feels nicer. Then the biggest difference is the Force Feedback. The DFP was great when it came out, but the DFGT is just so much better. It's smoother, quieter and seems to give a bit more feedback. With the DFP, sometimes you fight the wheel a bit too much, you can only steer so fast with it, whereas with the DFGT you don't get that problem.

In my opinion, if you can afford it, or you come across a bargain, get the DFGT, you won't regret it!
