Is furai the best handling (non f1/x1) car?

Well is it? Ive had the furai for a while and it seems to out turn most lmp/group c cars and bob can take it around the corners at Indy at up to 197mph. Is there anything better? (no f1/x1) AI LMPs take the corners in the 170's

Most BMW M3s have great handling.

The Furai feels like an F1 at times. It's speed and handling capabilities is immense & ridiculous. However, many cars are still able to beat it. For one the infamous Audi R8 Race Car has fantastic handling, as it's smooth and vibrant. However, I didn't really compete the both of them yet but most likely the Furai will out-corner the Audi by a long shot.

It does, I raced the indy 500 in bspec and bob consistently takes corners in the 190s and the Audi takes them in 170s. However, the furai has a low top speed and terrible acceleration at high speed, but drafting gives rediculasly good results, but then it slows for corners because of slow cornering lmp

It's based on Courage C65 which is a LMP2 class car, so yeah - no wonder it handles like a dream.
Best handling LMP in the game by far.

That combined with insane downforce... It would be a great car for hill climbs!

Can someone compare cornering speeds with f1 cars?

There wouldn't be enough power for it to go fast enough at the high points.

But yes, the Furai is so fast. Plenty of downforce and a light weight does nothing but contribute. Stock it is the closest one can get to an LMP2 car in this game.

I did this with the Furai too. Managed to hang on to the opposition pretty well but the pit strategy won it for me. The Furai also tends to be lighter on its tyres (less weight) and also uses up less fuel (lower power).

Amen! The furai is a true LMP in it's sheer form. And you must praise Mazda and the many companies that contribute their time and money on the "future rotoray". The car can destroy anyting that's not a F1/X1 through the corners and on the straights!

I took one of my furais out on the DCC A-spec Circuit Le Sarthe, the Jaguar XJR-9 instantly started in front and took the lead, but the furai completely eliminated it through the whole track. The XJR could keep its pace with the furai on the Muslanne, but after the second lap, furai gained a 5 second distance and growing away from the Jag I had nearly had a 8 second distance when I won the race. That car is amazing. :D

To 599GT: Where did you get the information that the furai's chassis is a courage C60? Because I know that Mazda probably created the chassis frame completely from scratch or maybe from one of the previous cancelled "nargre" concepts. And to my observation, the C60s or any LMP chassis doesn't look like its related to the furai.

The Furai is based on the C65 Courage :
