In the previous GT`s i would buy a cheap honda, usually an old civic, or perhaps a CRX.

Then the first couple races it would really be a challenge to finish in the top 3 (for me then), but after a couple upgrades slowly it would get easier and easier.

Now i bought the Honda Civic Type R premium car for 19k, the first race i drove away from them and finished with half a lap distance on the opponents, i added a carbon hood to finish the Type R look (in my eyes) and after that i haven't felt the need to put upgrades on my car.

Ive finished around 15 races or so, still without any upgrades needed.

So when i hit level 6 i bought a nice new Nissan Skyline R-32 and pumped all the remaining cash into tuning that (fun new feature, i added the titanium exhaust and it changed the look of the exhaust on the car!)

So am i the only one who`s missing the challenge of early Gran Turismo races?, or am i just that good :sly:

I think you did improve, I remember I had trouble with GT5p races at the first try, now I just do most of them with a controller (I normally use a G25) and can finish them first try (not the S ones).

Remember a 3 year old kid is supposed to pick up this game and do something with it, I guess many on the forum have passed that stage and will find the start easy. That is life, you learn and get bored.

still for me its the first GT where my first car can easely win most of the starter races without any upgrades.

It does feel as though beginner races are tuned to be pretty easy for whatever you happen to roll up in. I just won the Autobianchi, and since I love that little car I wanted to run it. It's almost completely stock - just sport suspension and a new air intake - but still won easily against cars with at least twice the power in the Sunday Cup. I know the light weight helps on AR Mini and that GV would be a different prospect, but it does feel like other cars are just waiting for me to go past them.

Probably easy at the start, then gets very difficult at the end.

the beginning is easy
if you want challange, before entering a race where you choose the circuit, you can see a car icon, which will show you the cars that normally participate in the race, so you can adapt and take a similar car.

Like all GT games with me, they get VERY easy at the start, and VERY difficult towards the end. I finished well ahead of the AI in the Sunday Cup, and span three times in a beginner kart race and still won.

Wait for the last 2 cups of Expert. There is a Toyota in there with 800kg/900HP. The first time you reach it, you have like 150k credits. Good luck buying-building anything that can keep up. The rest are "just" Japan GT cars. 1.200kg/800HP. Good luck, my viper with 1102 HP could not stand ground there, just too little traction in the corners.

The beginning of the game is seemingly very easy. Win a few races and you appear to have a fair amount of cash also. Would prefer more of a challenge at the start of the game but well have to see how much harder it is in future races. I'm only on amateur by the way. Just my personal opinion

First car I bought was terrible and I seriously had some hard time winning those races so I decided to start again, bought a Suzuki and I started winning some races. I believe the beginning of the game has always been easy in every GT game but I'm sure it'll get a lot harder soon.

I found the Sunday cup easy with the Civic, but because it didnt qualify for the lightweight cup (forgot the name) i bought another car only to find its really slow compared to the others, so its been a challenge trying to come first.

That is because the Civic Type R is a quick car and handles great.

I'm struggling on the Japanese Classics Race in Amateur Series.

I bought a crappy Nissan Bluebird but it only has 110hp. My opponents have 150hp.
What kind of car can I buy to beat this challenge? None of these '70 cars are premium as far as I know too.

I'm so happy to hear that.👍 One thing that I didn't like in past was not knowing what type of car was going to be participating.

Still easy though, you can beat clubman with a stock civic and the opponents have like 40+ horsepower on you. no doubt it will get harder though.

Its easy to a degree. I'm still a bit annoyed that we can't speed up B-Spec like in GT4. I'm at lvl 11/lvl 2 now A-Spec is easy sort of, but the Special Events aren't too easy, especially when you get to the middle ones.

Yea, I was saying I'm glad that you know what you're up against so you don't pick something that is too overpowered or underpowered. I would start an endurance race with no idea what type of cars were going to be in it.

Those Nascar events are brutal for me, I totally agree with you about the lack of speed up in B-Spec, that might just be the thing that kills it for most people.

You have to remember though that soon we will be able to run b spec remotely :)

edit: or something like that, Im not sure whether its just that our bspec dudes can just fill in lobbies or something...

I must have failed Intermediate 3 15 times. Jeff sounded annoyed at me.

The special events should have been locked until later or not given as much money.

I did the Sunday cup in a BMW M3, and I still had 300k left over that I could've spent. I could have done the Sunday Cup in a supercar if I wanted to.

So yeah, having 400k before you even start the A-Spec is a little ridiculous. Either make money harder to get, or limit the cars that can do the races.

Also, the BMW M3 is apparently a small hatchback. It allowed me to use it in the 2nd race of B-Spec, which is for small hatchbacks supposedly.

The first few races were just a piece of cake, including the first two kart races. But when I race the special topgear races, it looks like they are very difficult. I allmost cant finish the race in the lotus without under/over steer. I think that some sort of aid is enabled in the first races without knowing it. I allways drive without aids, but the lotus race is allmost to difficult. I drive with G25 bytheway

I tuned a gtr full specs, yet when i went to try with an old vitz i won that is 100% stock... i won by a mighty 5 secs... against Honda Integra's!!!!!!

YEP!!! that race is unlimited, i did mine with my nissan GTR, which is a whopping 800 bhp... should'v been limited r smth...

Is anyone else finding that you can't change the tyres you've got on a car other than by buying new ones? I can swap other tune parts I've bought, but it won't let me do it with tyres.

To be honest, I'm to good a driver for the standard AI to be a challenge, but I can always try and make it more difficult be choosing a slower car. I like the fact that there is excessive amounts of money available, because there are a hell of a lot of cars to buy. :p

I just dumped a crap load of money on my Civic Ek Type-R. I can't wait to get enough money to get the RM upgrades for it. I just hope they don't turbo it.(I don't believe in turbocharged Hondas.) GT Life is Hard and Soft, since it depends on what car and upgrades you got on it.
