Is GT5 compatible with a gear stick?

I have NFS Shift and I am looking into getting GT5. In the control settings in Shift there is only 'gear up' and 'gear down'. This is great for flappy paddle, but I can't get my gear stick to work with it. Does GT5 have a button for gear 1, 2, 3 etc.?
 
Yes it is compatible with the gear stick.
But there are no buttons you can assign to it.

just use the H-sifter with the G25, G27 and so on.
 
There's no way to configure the gear pattern, but if the stick is supported it should work out the box just hit the clutch and the shifter gets initialized.

You can also shift gears with the shifter without pressing the clutch by first pulling one of the paddles and then just proceeding to shift with the shifter without touching the clutch (this is good if someone is just starting with a shifter and wants to practice the gear pattern without bothering with pressing the clutch).
