Internet has reach and search to an extent no other media has, TV, radio, paper.

It's also becoming portable, slowly departing from PC to become ubiquitous.

So the question comes, will other media become niche markets and/or decease or be embedded with the Internet?

I think Internet will gradually engulf all other media. Is there any alternative possibility to this?

People supposed the same with the PC, that it would be the end of paper.

I still like my books more than an ebook

Pc will not become ubiquitous either,

And I don't think Internet is the last step.

Until they find a way to beam adverts directly in to your brain, yes.

The internet is somewhat of the ultimate mass media, yes. The content can be created and altered by the users and it offers all kinds of media in itself - TV, radio, books, you name it.

There will be a market for other stuff for a long time to come, i think. But, sooner or later, as the internet gets more and more powerful, more peopke get high speed internet connections and so on, it will become more and more important. I mean, just look at facebook... While I personally use it only scarcely, at least half of the people I know basically use it 24/7 :indiff:

It will of course change its face in the future, especially if governments try to gain more control of the internet.
Then again, there's always 4chan and Anonymus...
