when i was looking for more info about Gt4 on the SCEE site, i saw that the releasedates of european countries were changed into April 2004 instead of december 2003. Check for yourself:

I thought it was coming out MARCH 2004
 
I have seen this in another forum ,as the response was one i totally agree with . I would rather wait for a great game than get a ok game :trouble:
 
I want the game to be as good as it can be. Of course i wanna play it now, but i'd rather have it late than patchy. Loads of good games coming out before then too :)
 
Dirkiyo, that web link didn't work for me. It has a message to go www.playstation.com for information, and the info is only American related.

Can you copy what it says please?. I'm not sure if most people in America can see it either.

SCEE today confirmed that the more-than-eagerly anticipated Gran Turismo 4 is confirmed for a Q4 release in Europe - Merry Christmas, everyone. While all the previous screens we've seen of Polyphony's baby have featured contemporary, top-of-the-line sports cars and rallying mean machines, the latest bunch demonstrate some of the older motors you'll soon be able to jump behind the wheel of. Our pitifully limited knowledge of classic cars means that we can't specify which particular models have been lovingly recreated for our driving pleasure, but can say with mild confidence that Chevrolet Corvettes, Alfa Romeos and Lotus Europas rank among them. Judging by their distinctive (read: dated) exteriors, we'd hazard a guess that they all rolled off the production line sometimes in the 1970s, but don't expect us to be any more specific than that. Please.

Other than these quite exciting revelations it's business as usual in Camp GT4 - all-new physics, photo-realistic interpretations of iconic environments such as New York's Times Square and the Grand Canyon, over 500 vehicles, six-player online racing... y'know, the usual. Be sure to keep an eye on PlayStation.com over the next few days for a full hands-on playtest from the PlayStation Experience. Vroooooom, brrrrmmmm, neeeeeeoooowww, etc.
 
I hope it's not delayed by that much :(

Hopefully they'll get it out for the Christmas rush....
 
According to amazon.co.uk, it's still slated for a 26/12/03 release in the UK.
 
No one knows yet, not even Sony.

SONY CONFIRMS GRAN TURISMO 4 SLIP!

World fails to be shocked as 2004 release confirmed

15:11 With an ominous silence surrounding Gran Turismo 4's release date (it's been earmarked for "Christmas 2003" for months now), Sony has at last confirmed that the long awaited fourth episode in the GT series isn't actually going to be out in time for Chrimbo.
After rumours that Sony Japan had pushed the game's release back, and following a distinct absence of info on the title, we called Sony Europe and were told by a spokesperson: "Gran Turismo 4 isn't coming out this year - more details will follow, but as yet there's no specific date for the game's release."

So that's that. As soon as Sony make with the official date for the title's release, we'll give you the heads up.

Yep, remember, GT3 was suppose to come out sometime in February, and it didn't come out until late June. That's a 4 month delay, so if GT4 is delayed as well, North America wont see GT4 until May 2004.

But I'm sure GT4 is not delayed as bad as GT3, because I'm positive PD learned not to duplicate the same mistakes of GT3. Of course, we all know not all the mistakes were taken out of GT3. Heh-heh.

At the same time though, GT4 is much more complex than GT3, so it might be delayed for a couple of months too. Crap! We're just gonna have to wait, people!
 
I don't think anyone can say for certain when GT4 is coming out. I'll bet Sony would like to have it out in time for Christmas which is 3 months from now.

actually if you can remember when GT3 was GT2000 it was suposed to come out at the Japanese PS2 launch on march 4 2000. it finally released in April 2001 in japan, and july in america. thats over a one year delay......:eek: Lets hope GT4 is not like that.
 
But GT3 ended up so much better than GT2000 was, the graphics and handling was improved all after the release date, all that has already been done for GT4.

GT3 was originally GT2 with a graphics update, to be released as GT2000, but dev. time significantly increased and they ended up releasing GT3 much, much later than originally planned...

PD had GT2000 half complete when they discovered some new techniques that unleashed the PS2's processing power. They decided to make part of GT2000 with this new inovation, but later decided to scrap this idea, and make the entire game with the new technique. Since the game wasn't going to come out in the year 2000 anymore, they changed the name to GT3. It fits better IMO.
 
Why is it I get the feeling none of us will see GT4 before April-May 2004,probably later. :irked:

Meh, it'll be out when it's ready. No use complaining.
 
No suprise just aslong as they don't rush & bodge it together now that its delayed.

Hopefully Half life 2 will be out before xmas anyway :D
