Hello all you little folks out there, the Viper GTS is a pathetic car.
My Corvette Z06 can do everything it can do but better. I bought both and the Corvette can out accelarate and out run that stupid red bubble. Plus the Dodge Viper cost's more!!! It all comes down to the real race cars. When the Viper GTS Team Oreca and Corvette C5R costs the same. Believe me, if you have the money, the C5R is a better buy, some may dissagree, but I've tested them both on the Complex string track, the C5R turns better, is faster, and an overall better performance car. Yea, the Oreca may be able to out accalerate, but in the end, Corvette fans will have the Gold medal, and Dodge Viper fans will get there paws on a bronze.
I'll atmit the Viper is known for it's accelaration and everything, but after that, that's all there is, bad turning, bad breaking, and an awafull bad wipe out controll. The Corvette can out do a Viper any day.
You'll proably say that I've upgradded my Corvette to the max and not a thing to the Viper, wrong, I've upgradded both to there max, and the Dodge Viper has 1100 something HP while the Corvette Z06 has only 853. That just tells you something, Viper is nothing but name, Corvette is RAW BRUTE FORCE!!!

-Thanks

After you tweek both cars (specifically gear ratios) you will find that the Viper is quicker and faster.
It was a shock to me too.
But if all things are equal 8.0 liters will womp on 5.7 liters every time.
The reason the Vette beats the Viper before tweaking is that the Vette is geared to be slightly quicker. But if you give them both the same final drive ratio and similar gearing the Vette will lose.

First of all, if the Corvette got less HP then ofcourse it can turn better an has a better braking. It doesn't has to brake much to get to the speed that it has to go for that corner and the Viper does have to brake much because it is allways on a higher speed: so it has to brake more. And like Gil said with the right adjustmenst it is even better then the Corvette.

PS, I am not saying I hate a Corvette...

Also, drive them in some longer races with tire wear turned on. The C5R comes on Medium T5s, and has a lot of grip. But it burns the front tires out in no time at all, which leaves you to run the last couple laps in a car that steers like a dog sled. More than once I've been in the lead going into the last lap, and finished fourth or fifth because the tires went away.

The Viper is much better balanced in that regard.

LOL. Learn to drive and then start comparing. I am not saying the Vette is a bad car but you have a way better balanced car with the Viper. Plus yeah it has more power. You are mad at it because you cannot control that power. The car doesn't make the driver, the driver makes the car. If you cannot control that much power then of course your lap times are going to be slower that the times with your Vette. Take your time to learn the car and set it up right and you will be smoking your Vette all day long. :)

if the corvette has better braking, when you just buy a brake balance controller you can set the brakes stronger  I am also not saying that i hate vettes. Vipers can beat vette in gt3 though

Ok, I LOVE the Z06 because it is such an awesome car that really surprises alot of people, (mainly Ferrari Lambo owners).

I have never liked Corvette until the Z06 which I KNOW is probably one of the top 10 cars available today, or ever for that matter, and trust me this is a fact. BTW I am reffering to track speed, and overall handling, speed, acceleration abilities.

Now, the Viper is not one of my favourite cars. But as a knowledgable car person, I KNOW that it is faster (that is undeniable) but it has track skills that are as good, if not better than the Z06. Both are extremely good cars, and if I had the money I would be very torn between them. As for the top ten cars in the world that I was reffering to, here is my list for full production, non-limited edition vehicles. (in stock form)

1)Porsche 911 GT2(Semi-Limited)
2)Porsche 911 Turbo(996)
3)Lamborghini Murcielago
4)Ferrari 360 Modena
5)Ferrari 575M
6)Dodge Viper GTS
7)Corvette Z06('02)
8)Lotus Esprit V8
9)BMW Z8
10)Aston Martin V12 Vanquish

you put the z8 in there??? is it just for looks because if you ask me the price to proformance ratio on that car sucks. Although the rest of your list is definitely up to par. although the lamb needs to be in 5 and the ferraris in 3 and 4. just my 2 cents.... :D

That would not be the order in which those two cars appear in my 'all time greats' list! :)

My top ten list has absolutely nothing to do with price.

The Z8 has a very torquey engine and is very quick around the track. I just wish it didnt come in convertible form because they have less structural rigidity than coupes. If they make a Coupe Z8 I will be in love.

Now the Vanquish is a very exotic car, but it is very heavy and only marginally faster than a Z8. The Z8 out brakes it, out slaloms it and out skidpads it. Around a track, I am confident that a Z8 would be pulling off better lap times. The 1/4 mile times for both cars are

Z8:12.7@109mph
Vanquish:12.7@111mph

0-60
Z8:4.5
Vanquish:4.4
