Is my 2J just unable to beat the Zonda, Mclaren, or the Ford. :grumpy: No matter what tune I use, or any different power limiter/ballast settings, I still lose by 30 seconds or more.

I don't want to sound nasty but I think it may be just you. The 2j tends to make 650pp races way too easy. Can you give more details as to what's happening? Are you crashing or spinning? What aids are you using? This isn't an attack on you in any way. Sorry if it sounds that way.

+1

First, try the Mazda Furai or Mclaren F1 GTR. Different driving idiosyncracies of the cars may sometimes suit you better. In 650pp races, a single major crash or spin out will make the race very difficult to win.
Try out the time trial seasonals to see if you can gold them. Typically, if you can gold them on first few tries, you should be able to gold the 650pp seasonals quite easily. If not, you probably need a bit more practice. Have fun!!

plus what level is your driver. Try actually giving it assistance since my 2J usually need a few to grab first

Just to point out, this is with a lvl. 37 B-Spec driver...

My apologies. That wasn't clear from the original post. What temperament is the bob and what arrow does he have?

My bob has a very high temper, and has a up arrow at the moment.

I must admit I go for cool bobs, although the up arrow seems to be far more important to performance.
Fwiw I usually give one or two pace up commands at the very start of a race and from then the gauge stays fairly high due to being in proximity to the other AI. If there is a gap to the lead pack it may allow him to cool off which is when another kick up the butt may be required.

I've tried cool bobs, and literally pressed pace up every time possible for the whole 20 minutes. Also, by the time I get to third place, I'm already about 20 seconds behind them.

Do you have the racing hard tires selected ?

Yes, I check every time after a race, because I just cannot believe that the 2J is losing by so much.

I'm at a loss to explain. I would try default settings then add some ballast, positioned to give a 50/50 balance, as well as a slight power reduction. You are on 650pp, not HP right?

That's exactly what I do, and it is exactly at 650PP.

The only other thing I can think is that your bob is getting old. Are his stats starting to grey out? Maybe chuck a new bob in an X1 and set him off on an endurance race to level him up. Other than that I'm stumped.

thats odd, never had a problem with any of my bobs winning the 650pp races with my 2j and that includes that first one i got not long after the game came out.
There is one thing that I can think of. Have you tried to overhaul the chassis and the engine?

My lvl. 37 bob's stats are not grey at all, I've tried all of my other bobs too. I'm just lost for words.

Sad part is that I'm borrowing the 2J, so if I overhaul the chassis, or the engine, its just a waste of money. 👎 and also overhauling the engine is useless, because it just ups the horsepower, and that doesn't really help at all, since it's already above 650PP.

I'm stumped. Do you have a BMW mclaren gtr? That would be the other easy winner.
Which particular event are you trying to win? I could try to lend you a refreshed car if that helps. My PSN is same as my handle. Send an fr if you like.

Just joining in so sorry if I missed some of these points. The tune can greatly affect the drive, especially the transmission settings. The top speed usually should be in the 200 MPH (320 KPH) range, and as high as 220 MPH for the Ring. Can you reset all important tune: transmission, suspsension, drive train? The tires should read Racing: Hard in the upper left of the screen during the race - sometimes it doesn't match what I thought I selected. The screen is the proof.

I use the 650 PP Nordschleife race to train my new drivers.
2J, all settings default, limit power to get 650 PP.
I try to keep them around 75%, above that and he will go off track, below and he will be too slow. My lvl 0 bobs have no problem winning, even with the McLaren F1 and Zonda on the front grid.

I think your problem here is a couple different things... For one the track you are on is Nurburgring (lots and lots of turns) the chapperel 2J is more of a top speed kind of car not a road car like the maclaren or zonda R... Another thing is that you are racing at 650pp, the 2J is kind of maxed out completely if im correct. As yoda would say "may the downforce be with you".

Almost same here... i just don't train them :)
37 lvl bob, middle temperance, works fine with 2J..

the car love him guys...

^This is what confuses me. For the Ring, I have to back out and rejoin about 15 times until I get the Fairlady LM, and the Viper GTS in the front grid, and that's the only cars that can be on the grid for me to win. Also once he is in first, which is by the end of the first lap, he only wins by 2 seconds at most.

Maybe your 2J needs a chassis & engine rebuild in GT Auto? Also, try Praianos tune for it.
