I don't think its happening more this year, more than it is the media is covering it a lot more than previous years.

Yes, I agree. I don't think that it all of a sudden started happening more in this year as opposed to other years. This kind of behavior has been going on since there were schools around. I think that the media coverage on the subject has increased as opposed to years past. Presently, it's also a period of time where the news is slow. Hence more coverage of news stories such as these.

that is not what i'm trying to say here i'm pointing out the fact that these things have been on the news more and more lately that is all

You just answered your own question: It's been on the news more lately. That doesn't necessarily mean that a particular event is happening more than average, just that the news has picked up on it and won't let it go anytime soon. They have fads, just like anyone else. You would do well not to let it skew your perception too much. Remember that they're trying to keep your attention so that advertisers will buy air time from them.

I think inappropriate student/teacher relationships occur with fair regularity; you just don't hear about most of them. Not that it should happen - but it does.

Yeah, funny, that. They could have brought it up while I was at the catholic school. I changed from a normal school to a christian school - it went from show and tell to show and feel.
