is it necessary to reduce weight ? etc level 1,2,3 and windows weight reduction

if i keep my car at its default weight to race in a certain pp limit, will i be at a disadvantage if i didn't do the weight reduction in the first place ?

i know this will be a tough question for many and permanent upgrade

If it meets the correct pp, your fine.. but reducing weight drastically improves handling.

but we get power disadvantage due to pp limit ?

so technically due to different tracks and courses, we should have a duplicate car with and without the weight reduction.

because some tracks require more horse power than weight vice versa

dang! i am getting too technical lol

It also affects braking distances, tire wear, etc. You have to find a happy medium between power & weight, factoring in the course. Bigger courses with longer straights and sweeping turns will benefit heavier cars with more power. Smaller tracks with tighter turns will generally benefit lighter cars and less power.

If your car has less power, but also weighs less than the opponent that has more power....you will still be as fast given your power to weight ratio is that of, or greater than your opponent. PP is just a simplified way to help you figure those ratios.

So, its up to you. personally I would rather be lighter rather than more powerful than my opponent as it increases handling ability in the corners. Higher horsepower increases straight line speed (both depending on your gear ratios and/or suspension setup)

spa francorchamps has long straights but I often lose to the light weight elise

but i am eager to test it out with even lighter cars than the elise later

yes, at the moment i am heading towards the light weight direction than horsepower for all my cars irrespecive of courses. but i did not reduce weight of the car to level 2 or 3 so i can gain more horse power to balance and counter and off set the weight advantage set at default 0.
