Just woke up to all the chaos with the trading system. I wonder, is it possible that PD is putting things in motion that will alleviate the necessity of trading high cars and duping? Maybe the CR system is going to get fixed, costs of cars come down ect...... Maybe the next seasonal's will be mega CR, or CR or only races. Or, the lower PP you use in a race, the higher the CR will be in the end, essentially allowing the people that want a mega challenge to get the challange they want on top of reward while the others who just want to win can still race and win CR just not as much if the up the PP. My point is that I see everyone getting riled up and it may be for nothing.

While I support the update I also believe they just can't leave things like this.
Well we have to wait and see.

Just had another thought, new cars. Maybe they are getting ready to start dropping new cars or car packs. All of course is speculation, I just find it odd they did this out of the blue and haven't updated the seasonal's yet.

You have some very valid points there. I also read somewhere in a link provided, that Kaz's tweets mention that this could all be temporary.

New cars? Ooooo, I hope so.

I doubt this has anything to do with new cars (but that would be awesome), but I agree about other changes forthcoming... at first you had to grind Indy just to get into the millions, then they added seasonal bonus races where you could earn a couple mil with an hour or so of racing. I would be perfectly happy with the 1,000,000 gifting cap as long as there are new seasonals every week or so allowing me to earn a couple million.

It used to be higher, now its less, looks like they are moving backwards

I think it's back to where it started. I always thought the previous increase was temporary...

Per the update notice for 1.06: "Experience for A-Spec and B-Spec events have been increased, while rewards have been reduced back down to levels seen before the 1.05 update."

Why didn't PD make the expensive cars a bit cheaper to assuage any anger over the new trading restrictions?

Oh my god!! 50$?

That guy will be in trouble because of the 1.07 update ahahah!

Only a stupid retard would actually buy a car online for a video game at any price, and especially that price. I know people do, but unfortunately you just can't fix stupid.

👍

My understanding is they returned it to normal. I am being optimistic that things are coming, things that will make duping obsolete anyway, and hopefully breathe some life back into the game.

People do that every day (downloadable content). The problem is it's for a much lower price and the money goes to the game developer.

There's lots of stupid people and there's lots of people that know how to duplicate cars. That's a recipe for endless abuse.

By the way, do people not see the paid Google ad at the top of the screen for the Stealth 787B and similar? http://cgi.ebay.com/Gran-Turismo-5-SLS-AMG-Stealth-GT5-Car-DLC-code-NTSC-/130490754269

Granted, those codes are at least limited in supply and were obtained via purchase agreement (versus duplication exploit), but there's definitely people willing to pay for cars. X2010 included.

This is a fantastic idea! The game is far too easy as it is, you can solve almost any race by just picking some massively overpowered car (and if that doesn't work, just max tune it and make it an unrealistically grippy 'flat-out-in-all-corners' borefest). I belong to the minority who wants to enjoy the a-spec races and because the AI is critically flawed I often end up picking a really underpowered car. Sure it's more rewarding to win races this way as it is but getting that extra cr would certainly make it more worthwhile.

Not only that, they have added online rewards (there weren't any in the beginning), raised the online rewards in 1.06 and introduced remote racing, which is a nice cash generator. But why you can't sell cars is beyond me.

Which leads me to believe that PD may be getting ready to start dropping real DLC, paid for DLC. This little update may be put into place to curb abuse and invigorate revenue.

It's probably a temporary fix until they can figure out how to stop people from duplicating cars and selling them on ebay for $50: http://cgi.ebay.com/GT5-RED-BULL-X2...2448?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item4157151040.

Just a guess though.

Maybe. If that's the case, so be it. It'd be consistent with the other racing franchises and help defer the cost of converting/expanding the Premium line up I guess. And if there is DLC, that means more cars, which everyone has been clamoring for.

Anyways, I think they'd be more concerned about the abuse factor in the short term because of the duplicating issue. If the cars were limited (let's say you won a P330 and can't dupe it, you probably wouldn't be so keen to give it away for something else). There would actually be some "loss" associated with giving the car away, even if it were in exchange for something else. As it was (pre 1.07), there was essentially no value to any vehicle because they could be duplicated an unlimited number of times.

Buying DLC's from the developer is much different (IMO) than buying a single car from a independant seller on ebay. Mainly because the ebay seller in this case is selling a product that can be achieved in the game at no extra cost, and more importantly there is no guarantee the ebay seller will follow through with the transaction after the money is collected.

Ya that's what I was getting at. You could create a X2010 factory and sell them to people that had no idea they were able to be duplicated for free. Even if the seller did follow through, it's abusing an exploit in the game for personal financial gain. Probably frowned on by most game developers I'd think.

You just shocked me with the absurd truth of that line.:bowdown: And this isnt sarcasm.

I don't know why, but all these recent events are leaving me rather excited.

I agree, it is just that the Ebay thing shows there is an interest there, along with the massive amount of trading and duping, people want stuff, PD wants to provide it, some free and some I assume at a cost.
