I was thinking about this the other afternoon while I was at work. With the kids getting out of school, and many of us not having anything better to do, shall we kick around the ol' "Best Car" can and attempt to find the best in a given category once again?
Granted, it may be difficult to capture the fun when we did the "Best Car: Nation Edition" last summer. For those who don't remember these were the results:
1: Porsche 911 (Germany)
2: Chevrolet Corvette (USA)
3: BMC Mini (UK)
4: Bugatti Veyron (France)
5: Lamborghini Muria (Italy)
6-Tie: Mazda MX-5 Miata (Japan)
6-Tie: Koenigsegg CC (Sweden)
8: Holden Monaro (Australia)
9: Hyundai Tiburon/Coupe (South Korea)
...So, can we do it again? I don't think a national car contest will work out this year, given that we had just done it, and we would probably have to disqualify the winners from last time, which would pretty much defeat the whole purpose of the contest.
So, can we then do it by car class? What does make this difficult is the cross-class models, or those that break barriers in terms of size or price as well. But outside of that, we could put limitations on that with pricing, but then again, currency issues get in the way as well.
I was thinking of starting out kinda easy, maybe looking for the best sub-compact, and moving up in classes from there. I guess this thread is more or less a means by which I can measure interest in doing so... So I'm attaching a poll as well.
