I been sticking to 750 for two reasons, one - I figured the tards are less likely to get near me at higher speeds and, secondly - I'm in love with the Ford GT LM.

I'd kinda figured the lower pp races would be idiot heaven (like the intermediate races)

But going by posts on this forum a lot of you are racing in these classes.

So should I rethink?

I have done 600 and 750 races, it does not matter that much, 600 did not have more idiots ;)

I also love the 750 races with my corvette but 600 races in an aston martin, merc or audi r8 are lot of fun too!

I would say try it all and then make a opinion! :) works with most things in life :p

The races in the PP500 and PP600 are much more competitive. It's really more like door to doorhandle racing. Which I think is good. The pack stays much more together. If you have decent drivers the battles are...well....EPIC.

I should Rethink.
And not be so narrow minded.:sly:

I definitely like the 500 and 600 races. There are some very good and clean drivers in them. I think the kiddies and knuckle heads are more into the high powered stuff.

Hi all, my first post here. I have to agree with what has been posted above. When I first saw these races on May 1, I thought why would they put this in expert class. But after trying, I found out how difficult the races are. The 500pp races are especially fun. First, it's a challenge to figure out which car will be competitive. None of my current cars would get down to 500pp. Then the first "free run" tests seemed like I was racing in slow motion. After tweaking, I went online to race and no one was there at first. Eventually some started to show up. What a blast. All the cars seem pretty evenly matched. There is quite a variety of cars entered. Driving FINESSE is critical. And the kiddies obviously don't like it, there are none. All drivers just racing and not bashing (except by accident). The racing is very close, lead swapped many times on every lap. Finish is always very close.
If you're wondering which car to use, try to beat me on the 500pp high speed ring, you'll need to be under 1:24. On the Daytona Oval, nobody has come close to me yet, just under 1:00. I don't remember a good lap time for Suzuka, but get a car that will do the times I've given and let's have some fun, it's almost like a private race.
OK, I've given some times as a challenge to you all, see you tonight for some good racing.

I've been staying at those races too, ever since the 750PP events came out I've hardly been in them as they're too chaotic, and must say that the closet races I've had so far have been on those lower events.

@greyghost: nice to see you around man, hope you have a good time in the site :D.

i like the 500 and 600 pp races because there a quite a few cars i like. 750 pp i enjoy as well, but good racing isn't dictated by horsepower. the problem is i see very few people in when i join

Usually it's the otherway around. The punters all jump on the high powered cars and don't bother with the slower stuff that takes more skill to be fast with.

This is why you see so many "tuned" cars in events PP600+. How many Tuned Clios, Elises, Corvettes and that damn Amuse s2000 have you see ride walls and/or drop into the kitty liter on turn one?

I wish PD would give us some PP600+ races where tuned cars don't qualify. I'm a touch sick of seeing them in races. It's not that they are hard to beat, most are easy with even a stock F430, given typically the people who drive them are total punters. It's more that they are over powered and therefore can be used more aggressively as battering rams as when they drive themselves off the track they have more than enough HP to catch back up and pass everyone to start the mess again.

So ya, it's usually the otherway around from your logic.

I think the 500 races are good, I do them most of the time. Very close racing and I haven't really come across many punters. I think they're very thin on the ground on circuits like Suzuka as generally they just lose.

*update*
I just had the best online race yet on suzuka 600pp

I was trying out cars and had some good races with the TLD tuned jag and some not so good ones in the incredibly boring bmw concept before settling on the evo X, cos that's what all the cool kids seem to be driving.

So I'm tuned to about 597 and start in 2nd place behind a german dude in a black tuned clio.

I'm losing on the straights and gaining on the bendy bits for the first lap and a bit, with a good few changes of position between me and the clio, all the while keeping one eye on the white evo x in my mirror who's gaining fast on account of the braking me and the clio are having to do to keep on top of each other.

Then, booting it up through dunlop and keeping the pressure on max, the clio in front cooks it and I get a nice view of his right headlight as I scream past, white evo hot on my heels. for the rest of the lap I was defending my line, like a sonofabitch as the evo kept the pressure on. Couple of times I was a bit slow on the exits but I got away with it.

I think he gave up on the last lap coming through spoon but he might have hit the yellow car (don't even ask what it was I was too busy panicking) which had parked in the middle of the track and, despite the fact that he was being lapped, seemed reluctant to ghost. All I know is he was a blip in my mirror as I made my way round the long left (dunno the name) and into casio for 1st place.

What a race! and cudos to the black clio and the white evo who had every opportunity to punt me and kept it clean regardless.

I'm glad I tried this 600pp business now, once the initial shock of the driving in slow motion wears off it's really good fun. Now I think I'm up for some ultra slow 500pp action any recommendations in terms of chariot?

If you want to win all the time, the Mini and Integra seem best. If you want to lose, pick the Alfa Brera. If you want a challenge, use the Mk4 Golf GTI or the Lotus Elise 96 (I use the Lotus, it's such good fun).

First of all OP you are dead wrong, from my experience the 750pp classes are the ones full of the "tards"

Higher power cars give the drivers a false sense of driving skill and invincibility. 600pp and especially 500pp races require more skilled driving to get most out the car, and since the drivers here are more sensible in using their cars power, don't end up being moshpits in the first corner of Suzuka.

Yeah - I've seen the light. Had more fun tonite than I have since I bought the game.

I think 600pp is more my race tho, 500 is just a bit too slow. Still - to each his own.

Im racing with aston martins, dodge vipers and merc sl for the fun althought i dont have the feeling they are very good.

What is a good car for 600PP?

The Evo X will keep you out of trouble, if you want a challenge I can vouch for the TLD Jag XK setup - beware the back end on that puppy!

Okay will try the XK then, when im able to get behind my ps3 :(

(why do people want to watch tv???)

I've been running the 07 Subaru WRX with a great deal of success.

Some like playing with the Ferrari 512BB for an extra challenge. I'll likely give this a shot when I get the chance.

Because they don't have the skillz to play GT!

Those kinda people are walking failfests and a waste of skin - they should be ground up to a fine powder and used to improve your grip on the wheel

I am going to have to try the 550pp in the lotus elise '96 LOVE that car. Very much fun. I have mainly stuck to the 750pp events as well and the RETARDS that are there so I naturally guessed they would all be that way. I HATE getting punted off track for trying to be a good clean driver and actually using appropriate entry speeds on the curves. Except for one time when I race Earth, DUDE ATE ME UP! I got owned basically... :ouch: I felt very bad about my driving skills after that race... :nervous:

Well gor 500PP I've used the TLD Alpha wich is pretty good, and I've had pretty good races in it. I've seen people on a Mini and Integras but that's up to you.

And for 600PP you have a lot to choose from, I think the Evo X is pretty good but you can have much more fun with the 512BB or the XK, so it's up to your taste.

Yes, more drivers in the XK, that would be nice....:sly: I'm biased to such people, mostly because I seem to be one of only a few people who actually use it.
Also, the 512BB and XK are a brilliant match up, the 512 is a touch faster, but not so much to make it impossible to beat in the XK, you just have to push quite hard (which ive found to be quite difficult, rexc will know what I mean....which reminds me, great races, rexc! I could have caught your 512, but I kept pushing too hard and kept ending up with barrier penalties. The downgrade to the Speed Six was overkill though, you should have stayed in the 512, I really was determined to beat it :)).

I tried SUZUKA PP500 tonite, my god its, 👎, paint dries faster and grass grows quicker, the cars are sooooo slooooowwwww and sluuuuuggggggisssssshhhhh.

SUZUKA PP750 in my tuned EVO X my god its fun. :D

lol i know what you mean..its like getting on a motorcycle, then jumping on a bicycle...:yuck:

I run a NSX R tune or the Aston Martin DB9 in 600pp.I havent really experimented much with the 4wd as I feel it would be a more satifiying to bet a 4wd with a 2wd. They are great cars of course but its where I am at atm. I may try the Audi A8 in 600pp..
As for the 500pp , the clio.
And the GT LM in 750pp. Not all the races are a dead loss, just a large portion!
