Is my T300 faulty?

Can't help not getting paranoid after reading about all the problems others are experiencing with this wheel.

So my T300RS makes this clicking sound as I manually move the wheel.
I took a short video to demonstrate:

Is this the "clicking" sound everyone else is talking about? As far as performance, I have no complaints and am happy with the wheel. However, if this is something that could later develop into something worse, I'd rather address it while still under warranty.

Would love to hear your thoughts

I had the same problem but turning left. Worth getting replaced under warranty, they may have solved other issues with wheel.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
I will contact Thrustmaster.

yes, it wise to have it chnaged under warranty.
I'm having somes issues too with mine, not ground braking but may get worse, so i will undergo replacement too.
good luck

Did you change the rim (wheel) of your T300RS? If so, aren't you afraid you voided the warranty?

I did. I'm not sure if it voids the warranty or not. To be completely honest, I had this clicking sound before I even installed the aftermarket rim. I just ignored it and thought it was normal until I started reading more into T300 issues in forums.

Either way, rim swapping is not an intrusive/irreversible process. I'll just pop in the original rim before sending back to Thrustmaster and it will all be fine. I've only had this unit for about one month now with less than 10 hours of gameplay on it.

Mine has started to make that noise a little but also only when it is off and I am turning it like in the above video. When it is powered up and I am racing, I don't hear or feel it. Warranty still has over 10 months I will wait a bit longer before contacting Thrustmaster as they are way backed up anyways.

The video was taken with the wheel turned off. However, you can still hear it when the wheel is on. It's obviously less pronounced with the presence of FFB, which slows the turning down a bit, and the background engine sounds.

While I can live with the issue at its current state, you just don't know if this will ever turn into a major mechanical failure.
Still, I understand your approach. Going through a return process is a pain in the ###.
I'm just glad I kept that bulky shipping box...

hmm does sound faulty tbh , mine had a similar sort of sound when turning clockwise as can be heard in the video below...

I returned mine to the shop I got it from and had a new unit sent out which has been absolutely perfect ever since ( 6 months now) which is what I suggest you should do as it should have at least 1 year warranty by the shop you purchased it from plus 2 years from Thrustmaster

Thanks for the feedback. I'm currently waiting for a response from Thrustmaster.

I had actually come across your video when I was looking for "T300 clicking" on youtube. lol.
Didn't really pick up the clicking from your video over the sound of the motor running so it was not good enough of a reference for me. However, your response to this post now confirms it.

It surprises me there aren't many youtube videos of T300 issues considering how many posts there are about these problems online...

You guys over the pond with your fancy warranty laws :) in the USA we get 30 days to return to where we bought it (most places) then only a 1 year warranty from Thrustmaster.
