I dont have all lisenses yet, so is there more Online-events and/or options opening after last lisense or something. I did not see any Events and such when I visited to look around there... only lobbies created by another drivers.

I hope that what I saw there is not final build about PD:s idea about online-gaming.

A thing called "Matchmaking" is supposedly not there yet. Sounds like the missing element. Let's hope it's in a future patch.

I'm sure the online will come in time. Certainly what's there now surely can't be it (God forbid).

TBH the promise of Matchmaking is a bit of a worry. Forza 3 really downgraded their online by moving from Public Lobbies with lots of configuration in F2 to enfoced Matchmaking only in F3.

The pefect situation is to have both. Matchmaking keeps things moving and has advantages for more casual users. Public Lobbies are much better for the hardcore, but can suffer in terms of waiting for users to 'green up' and other issues.

Wait and see I guess. *crosses fingers*

Personally I do not care much for matchmaking so it is fine with me if it is not there. The open lobbies are cool something that Forza desperately needs to put back into thier game and the lounge has some really cool options that makes for more interesting races.

I started a lounge last night and was racing with some of my friends in the Nascars on Daytona and we had quite a blast. We then went out into the snow with some AWD cars and had a few laps also a lot of fun.

The shuffle mode is very interesting and the slow car boost is a cool feature as an option. I also like the grid ordering option that puts the winner of the previous race in the back and loser in the front. Options like this make it easier to get a race going where people will be battling for position even when some drivers are better than others and for me that makes it a lot more interesting and fun. On Forza 3 I would often just run away from everyone and even though I won a lot of races it got pretty boring also my friends would get pretty bored watching me disappear over the horizon. These new options give some ways to help keep the racing interesting and a lot more fun.

Totally agree. Open lobbies are the way for me too.
All GT5 really needs is more control over the lobby rules. e.g.

- BHP Limit
- Drive Type Restrictions
- Allowed Car List

etc.

Basically have a look at Forza 2 and copy it. Perfect! 👍

I'm pretty sure Microsoft has a patent on the Forza 2 lobby system.

They also really need an "Invite to Race" option.

The online racing is coming across as arcadey to me. I preferred Prologue physics.

Are there only 52 cars to be used online?

I know you unlock circuits but the lack of cars seems odd.

Also how do you use cars from your own garage or do you have to make them favourites.

That is the same thing i want to know! Where the heck is the online matchmaking we had in Prologue? Because all we have now is an upgraded version of GT4! Am i the only one who's like:WTF did we really wait all those years for GT4 hd? 👎👎👎

Euhm, that's all in there mate, what you are saying...
Even a ton more option listings...
Cars, restrictions, forcing anything on/off (race line, skidding assist, TC,...)

You can even have the track side grass' slip ration on "reduced" or "real", together with the rain...
That's all when you make yr own lobby, and invite friends to race with you from yr community..
If you join a random lobby, there will be parameters and restrictions on those too, so it could feel a little arcady when you choose a beginner like setup with all assists on...

Do you guys actually play and test these before posting???

you cant earn money on multiplayer?

i won 3 races and i dint earn anyting :(

Agreed here too. Prologue was too restrictive.

it just needs some basic bands.

I don't know what the title of thread is getting at. Tyou need to play it first. It is pretty comprehensive compared to prologue. You can even spectate.

Dead right, me and a few gtpers were racing for hours last night, I had control of the lobbie and the options were enough to keep things fresh each race. Karts, nascar, rally, one make races, hp band races, qualifiers, You name it we did it. Rallys and nascar have the option of grid, rolling and dual lane rolling starts. Perameters like driving line and aids, laps and stuff are all set by the lobby 'host'

Voila, finally the real testers come to post.

I found it dead on right sexy this night to be honest. (With my own friends though :p)
I'm now daydreaming with the following. What if all serious GTP'rs join in a friends list. That list would be huge, but we would have constantly a huge number of serious people online in our GT5 community, constantly good races and ideas...

The lobby thing is really, GT5 porn for me right now...👍

Well that sounds better. I quickly tried what happens when you push 'create lobby' -button, but did not see those details... which are just those what I was expecting. Good to hear they are there.

Yes, you can restrict exactly which cars are selectable by going down the list and marking them. There needs to be some basic banding though. It can be quite involved working out which cars are best matched, other than just bhp.

How do you invite people to your lobby?

i think you need to be friends first, so i really believe we need a ID thread going on here where we all post our PSN id so we can add eachother. Then there will be tons of possibilitys to invite. :)

I am friends with people how do I go about inviting them to the lobby?

I tried last night but couldnt find an option.

They just join you through community, or through XMB i reckon, invite friends...

I haven't had a go online yet, just because there wasn't enough info about in the lobbie list. this morning i just picked one that had a few people playing, but when i got in it was karting, which wasent what i was looking for. is there more info avalible, am i just not looking hard enough?

There was no online in gt4. There was local lan that some people hacked to get working with online servers.

The matchmaking in gt5 prologue was very limited.

Go and play it again and then make a comment.

is anybody else getting "disconnected from server" frequently?
